What is the longest you have ever gone purposefully doing some sort of ascetic activity (as in, fasting, silence, abstinence of some sort, etc.)?

I once sat, fasting and silent, for an entire weekend.  It was intense, to say the least.

I did a media fast for a week (no movies, tv, secular music, books, etc). I've observed an hour of silence for Remembrance Day in prayer Nov 11th, I think the longest I've fasted was a day.

Regarding apocalypses: what do you think is the most horrifying movie/book about the end of civilization/the world?

Regarding questions about the apocolpyse: The Stand by Steven King. To be certain, I don't like King as a writer, but any story about manking being wiped out due to a disease scares the crap out of me. I did a project on biological warfare during highschool, and I became convinced that it was a scenario that was ALWAYS possible; we just can't predict how a virus or bacteria will mutate.

By the way, Hello all! It's good to be back at theCBG.org. I finally am running a game again! I found players for my Iron Kingdom's campaign (Hell's Pass). We start playing a week from thursday.
