LordVreeg

Kick someone.  Hard.  Make them scream.  Emotional transfer complete.

What is your most memorable NPC in the last 365 days, and why?
VerkonenVreeg, The Nice.Celtricia, World of Factions

Steel Island Online gaming thread
The Collegium Arcana Online Game
Old, evil, twisted, damaged, and afflicted.  Orbis non sufficit.Thread Murderer Extraordinaire, and supposedly pragmatic...\"That is my interpretation. That the same rules designed to reduce the role of the GM and to empower the player also destroyed the autonomy to create a consistent setting. And more importantly, these rules reduce the Roleplaying component of what is supposed to be a \'Fantasy Roleplaying game\' to something else\"-Vreeg

Nomadic

Probably Eareg Maar in the cadaverous earth game. Haven't been playing him long but he has a special quality to him. Kellik was fun but he was very generic in comparison.

Quote from: SteerpikeYou've died.  Which Outer Plane does your soul gravitate towards?

Whichever one lets me kick the crap out of pretentious English majors :P

Would you rather serve in heaven or rule in hell?

Elemental_Elf

Serve in heaven because I don't like fire and brimstone.

Would you rather have a pirate ship or a space ship?

Steerpike

Space-pirate ship.  Or preferably a Spelljammer ship to escape Nomadic's rightful wrath.

Order these from most to least likely to occur, in your opinion: Hard AI, FTL travel, colonization of other planets in the next 100 years, contact with alien life, nuclear or germ apocalypse, teleportation (not just particles or information, but people), replicator technology, technologically-induced immortality (i.e. through genetic engineering, repair nanorobots, drugs, cyborgian augmentations, etc).

Ghostman

I assume that "hard AI" refers to PC/video games:

1. nuclear or germ apocalypse
2. replicator technology
3. colonization of other planets in the next 100 years
4. technologically-induced immortality
5. contact with alien life
6. hard AI
7. teleportation
8. FTL travel

Indiana Jones or Han Solo?
¡ɟlǝs ǝnɹʇ ǝɥʇ ´ʍopɐɥS ɯɐ I

Paragon * (Paragon Rules) * Savage Age (Wiki) * Argyrian Empire
* You meet the New Age Retro Hippie
* The New Age Retro Hippie lost his temper!
* The New Age Retro Hippie's offense went up by 1!
* Ness attacks!
SMAAAASH!!
* 87 HP of damage to the New Age Retro Hippie!
* The New Age Retro Hippie turned back to normal!
YOU WON!
* Ness gained 160 xp.
Steerpike

(hard AI as in in, greater than human intelligence machines, likely capable of creating yet more intelligent machines)

EDIT: I used the wrong term.  The correct term is "Strong AI."  I was confusing hard sci fi and soft sci fi with Strong/Weak AI.  Such a noob.  On top of being a pretentious English major, heh.

Elemental_Elf

@ Steerpike

1. Strong AI (we're fast approaching this now...)
2. Colonization of Other Planets (we could make Mars blue in less than 100 years through cheap terraforming)
3. Technology-Induced Immortality (Eventually most people will be genetically engineered cyborgs)
4. FTL Travel (we've already broken the Light Barrier with data, it's only a matter of time for travel).
5. Replicator Technology (This tech is very sci-fi, some day we'll have it but it's a long ways off).
6. Teleportation (Site to site could be possibly but Star Trek style is very sci-fi-y).
7. Contact with Alien life (I assume intelligent life, which will be far and few between. If just alien microbes, then this would jump to number 2).
8. Apocalypse (Nukes are not  problem since they're so common now. We'll find a cure for germ diseases. Sure it'll be rough but Humanity will survive).

@Ghostman:

Han Solo because Indiana Jones is just a pale imitation of Han Solo :)

If you had to make a new campaign setting based around one of the following themes, which would you choose - Grimdark or Fancifulrainbowunicorn?

Nomadic

Grimdark, haven't done one of those in awhile.

@Steerpike

1. colonization of other planets in the next 100 years
2. hard AI
3. nuclear or germ apocalypse
4. technologically-induced immortality
5. replicator technology
6. teleportation
7. FTL travel
8. contact with alien life

If given the chance would you volunteer to be a part of the first extrasolar colonization mission, knowing you would never be returning to earth?

SDragon

Probably not.

1) You own the movie.
2) You really like the movie, possibly one of the movies on your 'top 10' list.
3) You haven't watched the movie in an incredibly long time.

If you were an Orc, living in an Orc Society, and you developed Sorcerous powers, what kind of spells would you possess and would you use that power?

SDragon

Pyromancy spells. Would I use them? I'm an orc.
