Ghostman

The plot is very simple, but it works well to create a mood of horror that doesn't ease for a moment. The story is short and compact enough to stay interesting till the end. Prose is vivid as it should be for this kind of story. I like the humouristic undertones too, such as those alliterative spell names. The ending seemed a bit rushed though. Could have been more graphic - although that might be less fitting given the cosmic nature of the monster.

Ghostman

The latest story demonstrates well how an athmosphere can be evoked much stronger by that which is left unsaid, than by that which is spelled out. Having the story end where it does, instead of continuing any further, makes for a particularly good example of this.

Thanks for the responses!  I was very deliberately trying to stretch out the particulars for as long as possible.  I am wondering if Nick and Sara are creepy enough.  I was thinking of having them covered in tiny, gnashing mouths (like chickenpox lesions but much creepier).  Would this be too odd?  Is it better as written?

Llum

Personally I don't think its needed, it would really make it almost too surreal.

Nomadic

That was creepy... and really cool
