Ever wanted someone to bounce ideas off? A fresh perspective? Someone familiar with your work that can look at it in greater detail?

Now you can. By submitting your project into the Consultant queue, you can become a consultant on another project while gaining a consultant for your own project. You have to give to receive; by helping someone out, you can now have reasonably certainty of getting the favor returned.

[ic=Submitting a Project]Simply write a paragraph about your project. We suggest including information about its scope and duration, tone, and what a potential consultant might be able to do for you. Also, any background that would help a consultant (for example d20 Crunch knowledge) may be worth mentioning.

Post in this thread and I will add it to the queue. It's that easy.[/ic]

[ic=Finding a Consultant]We recommend only consulting on one project at a time. However, as long as you can handle both, there is no rule against taking on a second.

When you submit your project, you PM Ishmayl with a list of projects you'd be willing to work on. He'll help match us up.

If you've already worked out a private arrangement with another member, just post to let us know that and I'll remove your project from the queue and add you to the consultant list.

Once you are a consultant, feel free to add the consultant logo to your sig.

[ic=Once you have a consultant]We recommend establishing a compact in advance. This is a rough agreement about what is expected from each consultant, how frequent communication can be expected, and how and when the partnership can end amicably. Obviously either partner can decide to withdraw at any time, and if one project has not been updated in over a month, this might be expected.[/ic]

In the Queue

The Ark - Wensleydale
The Ark: A setting based on a vast colony ship, several thousand years in the future. The only remaining aliens - and a sizable group of humans - are escaping beyond the fringe of the galaxy. A few problems: The Ark's captain has disappeared, the engines are slowing, various subsystems are damaged or destroyed and the human military fleet are on their tail. The species, waking up from stasis, have no idea what's happened. Fantasy mixed with sci-fi - now with SCIFIESQUE MAGIC!

Arunaul - Survivorman

Arunaul is an ancient world, populated by new races and cultures that have thrived after a apocalyptic event befell a mysterious super civilization. From the brink of destruction this world thrives like never before, many new peoples and cultures trapped in a peaceful (and sometimes violent) race to the top. This has put science, magic, and technology advances booming like never before. Some will do anything to restore the natural balance as nature intended. Some will make great sacrifices in the name of science. Some will slowly piece together the mystery of the ancients that once walked Arunaul, and why they died. Some will be caught inbetween an elaborate web of things, trying to find a place in a confusing and quickly growing world.

Okay, at this point, I'd like to ask everyone still interested to PM Ishmayl with a list of every project they'd be willing to consult on. He's going to try to pair them as best as possible.

If you have not yet signed up, please still feel free to do so.

We've had a slow start, but I'd really like to see this take off.

Ishy has said you can just post your choices to this thread, or PM if you prefer to keep it more private. Remember the more projects everyone is willing to help with, the easier it is to match them up.

Something people might consider is making a special consultant badge for their setting to follow the standard consultant one.

It's only a thought, though. Badges of this style are pretty easy to make, so I can do some for those that want them.

Superfluous Crow

Well, any kind of border or crack should work for Broken Verge. Arga is Leetz's domain.

Eladris

This feels suspiciously like Internet dating! *laugh*

Anyway, I'm pretty open about who I could consult for (read: no preference, though potential partners should be warned my fantasy is stronger than my sci-fi).

I would love a consultant for Ansolon.  Do I need a blurb?

That's my first attempt. I had to use smaller font because the name was too long.

FREAKIN' AWESOME HORSE

I'd be happy to consult on Ansolon, Eschaton, or The Ark. They seem up my alley.

Matt Larkin (author)

Yeah, I already gave Ishy my list, but I'll add Ansolon to it if he's reading this.

Eladris

Ansolon - Eladris
During the greatest heights of magical and scientific achievement, bickering gods engulfed the mortal world in chaos by destroying the moon, Ulna. Most of the moon crumbled and formed a ring around Ansolon, though some pieces still tumble from the sky as meteorites.  Wherever the fragments impact Ansolon warps, land and life blighted; the corrupt regions fester and spread.

Fantasy; mid-high magic, low tech; darker themes that emphasize survival.

SilvercatMoonpaw

I'd like to change the description of Intermittent Brainshowers:

"Attempting to create fantasy in a different direction than epic conflict.  It's character-scale fantasy, no larger-than-life heroes here."
I'm a muck-levelist, I like to see things from the bottom.

"No matter where you go, you will find stupid people."
