That's pretty much my reasoning: if I didn't think people would be doing it anyway, I wouldn't make it a thing.

And I'll be doing at least two or three examples of my own, regardless. :yumm:

Almost the entirety of my system is in my notes somewhere. I'm working on consolidating it and working up a playtest document, between bouts of procrastination and schoolwork and what have you.

The setting is starting to really form in my mind. I already had a vague cosmology and a big top-down political situation, but that stuff isn't hugely useful or interesting to me... I'm getting into the stuff I like, mainly NPCs and organizations.

[ic=My Broken-Ass Computer]Current status: Broken-ass

Short Term Goals: Get it working again

Long Term Goals: Forget this incident ever happened[/ic]
[ic=Crystalstar Setting]Current status: Lots of fluff, no crunch to speak of. It's good for writing and freeform playing, but there could always be more.

Short Term Goals: Get all of my random musings and scattered notes into an organized fashion on the wiki and/or forum, write some more short stories in the setting, run another/some more informal IRC (or whatever) games

Long Term Goals: Run an actual campaign[/ic]
[ic=Some Random Thing]Current status: It's kind of taking Crystalstar's demons and succubi and running with it, resulting in something resembling a cross between Maid RPG and the World of Darkness

Short Term Goals: Figure out if this is sane

Long Term Goals: Realize that it is not[/ic]

Dystopia. Dystopia. Dystopia. Technically I've posted a few settings over the last three years but they're all just reflections of the everystate, and if you know what the hell that means you know too much about Dystopia anyway.

[ic=Firefly One-Shot]
1. Firefly One-Shot
Current Status:  Tinkering still, but I have most of the character sheets finished, and I think I have the basics of the plot arc planned.

Short Term Goals: Get this thing finished and played.

Long Term Goals: Look back and say, "Wow.  That was fun."[/ic]

 [ic=Avayevnon]
2. Avayevnon
Current Status: In the midst of an update on the whole setting and a system shift.

Short Term Goals: Get the other races up, and finish breaking classes down into their basic abilities which are purchasable as traits.

Long Term Goals: Eventually get everything together into a nice shiny finished product that may or may not get published.[/ic]

Llum

[ic]
Basically I've been doing the usual, letting my interests churn out a variety of settings then mill them down and start over. Currently I've got two major settings made from bits and pieces that are comming together. They are the "Essence of Llum" setting and the "Setting made out stuff rejected from the Essence of Llum setting, that should be kept around". Most of it fits. I doubt these are final incarnations. I've also got another idea, a world with magic that eventually reaches a modern-like state. Just working out how magic works to start building it up, Polycarp is owed a lot on this one, really great discussion about magic in mIRC helped a ton. mIRC is pretty neat, people should check it out ~~

Essence of Llum Setting

Current Status: A pretty decent amount done in this one. Probably a bit less than Divergence, but more than most other settings.

Short Term Goal: Iron out some of the kinks bugging me.

Long Term Goal: Probably revise or maybe even milled down to be used for the next generation of settings.

Other Essence of Llum Setting

Current Status: Not much done, a bit of pre-history, some basics on cosmology, races and other junk.

Short Term Goal: Get more done, decide if I want to flesh out more than one huge city.

Long Term Goal: Probably revise or maybe even milled down to be used for the next generation of settings.

Modern Magic Setting

Current Status: Concept work, that's about it.

Short Term Goal: More work done, finalize magic, start on history and tech evolution.

Long Term Goal: Post on the CBG most likely, I don't see this one getting milled down. It's too different and non-compatible with my favored tech-level (This will be closer to modern, I prefer somewhere between 17th and pre-Assembly Line/Mass Production)

Imma Necromancy these thread, because it's a cool idea.

[ic=Terra Macabre]

Current Status: Coming along nicely - faster than anything I've ever worked on before, truth be told.

Short Term Goal: Get all the basics set up, then start finally going into depth on various topics as opposed to overviews.

Long Term Goal: Hammer out the system...and actually finish a setting for once.[/ic]

[ic=Short Complete Settings]

Current Status: Digging through my old notes to see if I have any of these completed.

Short Term Goal: Make a bunch of random, short settings that are "as is" runnable, nothing too detailed but enough to hopefully be interesting.

Long Term Goal: Take those settings and mash them into Terra Macabre or one of my other two projects.[/ic]

[ic=Unnamed Fantasy Setting]

Current Status: Brewing in the back of my head.

Short Term Goal: Go through all my old settings, find what I haven't cannibalized for Terra Macabre I could still use, and begin cannibalizing.

Long Term Goal: Get it fleshed out and bring the mashed-in elements together. Oh, and make it largely compatible, mechanically, with Terra Macabre's FATE variant.[/ic]

[ic=Shades and Dust]

Current Status: Hiatus while Terra Macabre keeps my interest.

Short Term Goal: Again, go through old post-apocalyptic settings and find what's there that's mashable to squeeze in here. And, as is going to be my MO, post a Brainstorming thread to get even more mashable materials.

Long Term Goal: Flesh this setting out into something workable...and seeing if I can do it in a way that'll be compatible with my FATE variant, because I love FATE.[/ic]

How about you guys, now that so much time has passed since this thread was last posted in?
