Imagine a world covered in a perpetual thunderstorm, not always raining, but always waiting...

Imagine a world where Orcs ruled the seas
Imagine a world where Humans were kept as pets
Imagine a world filled with holes that went through to the other side
Imagine a world where magic was given as medecine in pseudo-pharmacies
Previously: Natural 20, Critical Threat, Rose of Montague
- Currently working on: The Smoking Hills - A bottom-up, seat-of-my-pants, fairy tale adventure!

Imagine a world where magic was the self-correcting Jungian psyche applied to the universe.
Imagine a theocracy that was anti-divine magic.

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

Ghost

Imagine a world that isn't quite there. The entire (or at least, a good portion of) surface of the planet, or plane, is under the effect of a massive illusion spell. The mountains, trees, rivers, animals can be touched, but are merely the illusion of their real selves.

Then, if you want some additional options, imagine that the magic powering this spell began to falter in some places, possibly with a gradual fading effect all over. It would be a pretty big shock to realize the environment you've lived in all your life was merely a construct.

This could even be done in d20 Future - just substitute the spell with some kind of powerful holographic field.
‘Yes, one may live while never leaving their domicile. But then, they aren’t really alive. Exploring, adventuring, becoming a mercenary - whatever one may call it, it is the blood of the world that many are embracing now. Our reach is advanced nearly everyday, and the stars themselves are in our grasp. That is why I, and many others, continue to learn as we do.’

-Cazirife Dee, Captain of the Holy Vyecec (excerpt from the intro to Ifpherion: AoE)

Realm Weaver, that's a real juicy idea.

*yoink*

Consider it stolen.

Velox

What is "real"? How do you define "real"? If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then "real" is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.

-Imagine a world where Pi = 2
-Imagine Snakes on top of Planes
-Imagine a world where angry goats debated contemporary philosophy inside a giant cheese dome with tupee wearing flamingos in every city.
Eats brains here! Ugh!
That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.
"To obtain a deep, restful, and fulfilling sleep, you must first submerge yourself in your cyclopean city of hideous non-Euclidean geometries beneath the sea, and then let your body die. But don't worry! As long as you continue to emanate enough evil thought-energy to influence and control your many worshippers throughout the untold eons, they will resurrect you when the time comes. I guarantee it!"
Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive."

(as Stegosaurus) "We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land'."

(T-Rex) "Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh...now die!"

No! penury, inertness and grimace,
In some strange sort, were the land's portion. "See
Or shut your eyes," said Nature peevishly,
"It nothing skills: I cannot help my case:
'Tis the Last Judgment's fire must cure this place,
Calcine its clods and set my prisoners free."
