Thoughts on REH

Just wondered what the CBG and its members think of the works of Robert E Howard.

I read through the Conan stuff a couple of times in high school and liked it well enough way back then, but it honestly has not occured to me to reread them in the past twenty plus years.

Maybe the Schwarzenegger movies ruined it for me....

Heh, I can hardly blame you.

Personally, though, I do actually rate REH as an author, and not just in terms of entertainment value. I think some of his descriptions (aside from all the mighty thews and so forth) are quite evocative.
