Perhaps if people perceived the perils of proposing such pretenses, power would be prevalent to the proponents of the prevalent purpose!

CYMRO

Such cynicism saves not a single soul, so submit sensibly.

Anyone reading any books recently?

I've caught up with 52... Spoilers below.
WHY THE HELL DID THEY KILL BOOSTER???
Black Adam is quickly becoming my favorite DC character. The moral ambiguity... ooh!

The new Flash has potential.

Guy Gardner is a badass, gotta shout-out to the Corps

Civil War... Hmm, well...
Spidey is going to end up being the lynchpin, we all know it.
Ion is good, but a little slow-paced. See him battle Nero, one of his Rogue's Gallery, and become bored with stuff we already know through dialogue between Hal and Kyle! *rolls eyes*

Hank Henshaw, oh, how you tease. He just won't leave GL alone... what'd those guys ever do to him?

Got a softcover Crisis on Infinite Earths trade paperback, primarily because CoIE rocks five times to Tuesday. Yay 1985! Yay George Perez! It's in my top 5 favorite anthologies, right behind GL: Rebirth and Kingdom Come.

Aaaand... Nightwing. Haven't read it yet, but I picked it up.

What're you guys following at the moment?

What?
England.
Just a conspiracy of cartographers, then?

Spider's gonna get in some seriously deep shiz-nit.  Have you seen the cover for Civil War 5?

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

Velox

Just found "Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse". Looks damn good.

Still looking for new Goons, Desolation Jones, Nextwave, BPRDs  -or [hell-forbid] new hellboys

So it's mostly DC and Marvel boys on this board, huh? Unfortunate.

Elven Doritos

I read the Nightwing issue.

I remember why I don't read Bat-family books any more.

Yeah, all the not-Batman books are kinda lame most of the time; I remember some sort of Commisioner Gordon book that was fun too, but other than that, "Detective," and "Batman" are all I pay attention to.

The last good Bat stories I've read were the "Cataclysm" stories back at the turn of the millenium.

Hush was an amazing story until the very last issue.  Other than that, they're all just "good," nothing that sticks out.  The newest arc with Grant Morrison is looking pretty good so far.

I picked up the three most recent issues of "52", and I've got to say, it's still holding my attention.

The ending of the most recent GL Corps issue was... chilling, yet fitting.

Picked up JLA 1 and Trials of SHAZAM! 1. I like the direction of both, even if other people don't.

YES!!! Thank the effin gods. BPRD is the shit. The new Universal Machine series is awesome, what with all the character revealing. Johanns story was great. Captian Daimo (sic) was great to finally hear, very action movie-esque. I does suck to see roger go, though. Im just gonna re-read "hollow earth" and pretend he's still kickin.

Elven Doritos

So, I've picked up the following books recently:

GL Corps #4- Guy can't catch a break (literally)!

Outsiders #40- The last page made me laugh out loud. Rare for a book starring Nightwing.

Some Superman/Batman tales from around a year ago or so. They were pretty good.

GL 13 wasn't in stock when I went to my local comic shop last week, I'll try and get a hold of it sometime in the next two weeks.

Overall, the current series I'm planning on following:
-52 (although I won't buy them blindly)
-Outsiders (same as above)
-GL Corps (this one's a keeper)
-Flash (awesome stuff)
-Green Lantern (on a case-by-case)
-Ion, Guardian of the Universe
-Trials of SHAZAM!

I will pick up the occasional Civil War story, but I do not like the slippery slope Marvel is on.
