I've noticed that a lot of you are posting here without avatar pictures.

If you are doing so because you prefer to go avatarless, that's cool. I can understand the importance of making a statement through silence. But I suspect that a few of you might be posting avatarless because you don't have an avatar you like, or don't know how to make one.

So, for a limited time, Luminous Crayon Industries will be donating custom-made avatars to the needy. You heard correctly: brand-spanking-new, custom-built avatars, made of 40/60 adamanium-steel alloy, absolutely free for the asking! Just post here, and let me know what sort of thing you'd like me to do.

For example, I can make an avatar from a source picture, if you have one to send me. I'll crop it to size, add a stylish border, and possibly do some other things!

Or I can find a source picture based on your specifications, via Google Image Search. So if you don't have a picture, but you know you want your avatar with a picture of a viking, played by William Shatner, climbing a mountain made of obsidian and fighting off harpies with a sword held in his teeth, you won't be able to get that because I can guarantee that's too specific for Google Image Search to find! But if you choose something a little more basic, I can probably make it work!

Or, you can ask me to choose an avatar for you, based on your username. Or, you can ask me to give you whatever avatar I think "fits" you the best (although, if you don't post enough here for me to get a sense of your posting style, I will not have much to go on.) Or you can ask for one of the strange and humorous premade avatars I have lounging about on my hard drive. The possibilities are endless.

So, all you poor avatarless posters, now is your chance to take wing and soar with the aluminum eagles. Or something.

I have several avatars myself, so this is just if you have some spare time, but i would like to request one of the "username/fit's you best" avatars from you, mostly because i would like to see what you come up with.

also, i could help out with some of the avatar creating. i like doing that for myself (i have far more avatars than i ever use, just cause i like making them).

First, I'm thinking of something along the lines of something you might have wanted, but you can't have it because somebody else took it.
Second, an undead claw that's reaching out towards you, and behind that claw is a grinning, arch-lich ovelord, with cat ears. And a crown. A gold crown. With gems.

I like the computer one. Maybe you can have that as your avatar then mine is just a bunch of text that says "I wanted an avatar, but sdragon1984, ona'envalya took it first"

I see your second point clearly. Change that to just a Zombie with cat ears and a gold crown. Played by Willian Shatner while...

I'd like you to find me a suitable picture that fits my name, if you would. Whatever YOU think suits me best :)

I'm kind of tired of my old WotC-boards avatar. So, if you have time (this is probably the point where you're thinking "wow, much more reactions (=work) than I expected"), I'd really like to have something by your hand.

If you have an idea about something that "fits me best" feel free to play with that. Otherwise, a Túrin-based pic would be nice. I assume you know Túrin (wielder of the Black Sword, slayer of Glaurung), but if you don't, Wikipedia is your friend. ;)

I don't need Wikipedia to tell me that Turin Mormegil is the most awesome character in the Silmarillion. I found a couple of pictures of the battle with Glaurung, but I like this picture the best, because of the color. Here, Turin seeks an audience with Ulmo.

Yours was a lot trickier, and I'm still not happy with the results. Cat-eared undead are remarkably hard to find! The source image here was almost too disturbing to work with, so you may like it for raw creepiness factor. If you like it, feel free to use it; if not, I'll keep trying.

I don't know why, but this reminds me of you, in the most flattering possible way. I even photoshopped myself into it: that's me on the left, before I've had my coffee.

My attempt at a landscape inspired by Aath and Vilydunn. I took several different sunset photographs from different locations, made them transparent, and superimposed them on top of one another, along with some other things. Also my first attempt at a color-gradient border. I think it worked pretty well at looking not-quite-real and vaguely, passively sinister, which is what I was aiming for.
