CYMRO

Fabulosae Mundi, legends of the world.  This is meant to be a community developed world tied to a   new game system being developed.  Mechanics of the system are secondary at the moment, and FM regional development should be about flavor.  Develop the area you get according to the myths and legends that tickle your fancy.

The geographical setting is simple enough:  Earth.

I will be adjusting Nordica to fit one small corner of FM.

This leaves about 99.3% of the earth's surface (plus Atlantis) to fill with whatever floats boats.

CYMRO:  Nordica, Iberia/Italia.
WITCHHUNT:  the Greco-Syrian-Eqyptian triangle, and Arabia.
BEEJAZZ:  North America, France, Persia.
GOLEM011:  Russia.
SUPADUPAMAN:  Central and South America, Ireland.
SOBAN_KIITHSA:  Atlantis, Northwest Africa, Japan.
REALM WEAVER: Sub-Sahara Africa and Madagascar.
ENDLESS_HELIX: England and Wales.
ELDO:  China and Lemuria.

And I thought the Mid East would be a hard sell...

Hibou

:) I love the Middle East and Mediterranean stuff. Prince of Persia-ish stuff, plus the Greeks, Egyptians, Jersualem, etc.

rrr... yeh beat me to the Middle-East thang. I can help you out with that a little. I'm a Persian myself. Hmmm... Americas for me, then. Maybe some Russia.

Time periods?
I say mixed. Let's kind of overlap things that don't make sense chronologically. "the best of time" as it were. Westward Expansion + French Revolution + East India Trading Co. + Pirates + Persian Empire + Byzantine Empire + Russia just being Russia, etc.

What?
England.
Just a conspiracy of cartographers, then?

So, shall we make Greece your western edge, leaving Rome and Carthage for another?

Hibou

I'd be willing to split the Middle East, but I definitely want the stuff on the Mediterranean. Specifically I'm interested in Greece, Turkey, Israel, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, maybe a bit of Saudi Arabia and if you don't want it, Egypt.

Oh, keep Egypt... so long as you do something 1337 with Ptah. Everybody forgets Ptah!
Also... you may have already noticed this, but I'm more adept at combat rules variants. They're easier to balance.

Greece will do as my western edge, yes. As much as I'd love to do Rome I don't want to hog too many cool places. I can get pretty much anything I want out of those areas, and another region that I'm going to wait to see if anyone asks for first. Greece - Syria is my West - East range.

EDIT - Maybe some of Iraq too? Just so I can get in a decent amount of desert.

Overlapping chronologically is fine, so long as it is legendary.

American six shooters, giants(ala Paul Bunyan), Indian legends, easily fit the American area.

Lancelot and Charlemagne and Robespierre side by side in Paris.

Baba Yaga and Peter the Great in Russia.

Pick what suits your fancy of appropriate legends to populate your region.

beejazz

Sweeeeeet.
And if I pick up France can I fix the Paladins already. At least one of them (according to the legend) was a spell-slinging fiendbinder. Lots of times they fought amongst themselves. I really want to bring back the HUMAN French Paladin.

Should be interesting to see the Real Thing resurrected...

beejazz

Are you familiar with the old Paladin stories? Bradamante and Rogero and Orlando and all them? The original orc? Hennyway... I'll probably have the paladins act as an elite French cavalry unit during the general era of the French Revolution. Everything is morally ambiguous in the worst ways possible, but the Paladins still probably uphold religion... maybe a church n' state dilemma. I doubt it merits a core class so much as an organization.

Haha! Good! I was worried aboot loosing Orcs!

beejazz

Yeah... but not orcs plural... There was one orc... and it was a boar-headed sea monster in... Ireland? I'm not so sure.
