Quote from: beejazzYeah... but not orcs plural... There was one orc... and it was a boar-headed sea monster in... Ireland? I'm not so sure.

This must be investigated...

beejazz

I mean, for "orcs" I suppose the Irish community that sacrificed virgins to it could have been cursed? Not part of the story... but it could've been!

QuoteI don't believe in it anyway.
What?
England.
Just a conspiracy of cartographers, then?

Yes...
When all else fails, blame the Irish!
Good work!

CYMRO

Any other takers at this time?

Wensleydale

I'll do South Africa! Yay! Edit: In fact, make that Russia. Yay!

I want to bring in all the Russian legends I can think of... and yes, that includes Baba Yaga...

And Mother Russia goes to Golem!

Wensleydale

Also, would it be all right if I took that tiny bit of the world known as Egypt...?

Edit: Stuff that. Guess who's got it... :P

Captain Obvious

I'd like to tackle South America (or a part thereof).
Where are the other threads for this (i.e. what has been done already?)
some links to those would be nice.

Do you want Central America as well?

The CBG system thread is the only other at the moment.

"Regardless of what happens, our lives are finite. We all know that we will grow old and that someday our lives will end. That's why we try so hard to live each day to the fullest. Thats why we keep stumbling on by trial and error. But it isn't just for ourselves, its so we can leave some signposts for the people following in our footsteps. To cowards who cling to where they are and who've given up on trying to move forward, theres no way to see how bright the future is, even though its just around the corner!"

Quote from: Soban_KiithSacan I call Atlantis?

Atlantis is yours!

Soban_KiithSa

Sweet!  So where is Atlantis going to be?

It depends how big you want Atlantis to be. Asia-sized? Europe-sized? Australia? Japan-sized? If it's going to be really big we should probably make the world bigger and extend an ocean to keep some travel difficulty and opportunity for sticking close to real-world history if someone wants. If it's small, it could go anywhere, though I'd prefer it doesn't take up too much of the Mediterranean. If it's sunken when you take it, anywhere rocks.

Well, I was thinking we could go for one of the cliched locations of Antartica or under the ocean.  But I was thinking that it could be underneath the Sahara (which could lead to even more Egyptian tie-ins.  And the Sahara is an 'ocean of sand' so the myth still fits.).  Or, in a random moment of creativity (gasp!), I came up with the idea that it could be in space, orbiting the planet.  But that would require some kind of uber-cloaking shield.  Highly advanced progenitor civlization anyone?

As for size, I was thinking along the lines of between a major metropolitan area (New York City) and the state of Delaware.
