CYMRO

Quote from: Soban_KiithSaWell, I was thinking we could go for one of the cliched locations of Antartica or under the ocean.  But I was thinking that it could be underneath the Sahara (which could lead to even more Egyptian tie-ins.  And the Sahara is an 'ocean of sand' so the myth still fits.).  Or, in a random moment of creativity (gasp!), I came up with the idea that it could be in space, orbiting the planet.  But that would require some kind of uber-cloaking shield.  Highly advanced progenitor civlization anyone?

As for size, I was thinking along the lines of between a major metropolitan area (New York City) and the state of Delaware.

If you look at the map in the first post, I just gave you most of the Atlantic as your play ground.  If you want Antarctica as the area, that is fine, as well.

Soban_KiithSa

Actually, the Atlantic works rather well.  I'm thinking a large submersible city that roams around the North Atlantic, and has an underwater port on the coast of Morocco.
"Regardless of what happens, our lives are finite. We all know that we will grow old and that someday our lives will end. That's why we try so hard to live each day to the fullest. Thats why we keep stumbling on by trial and error. But it isn't just for ourselves, its so we can leave some signposts for the people following in our footsteps. To cowards who cling to where they are and who've given up on trying to move forward, theres no way to see how bright the future is, even though its just around the corner!"

Works for me.  Hell, you could even create several.

Soban_KiithSa

Hmmm...a whole fleat of submersible cities, with the main city in a cavern in the continental slope...I like it!

Hmm. Sub-Saharan Africa would be cool. I'd like to take that region, if anyone else hasn't.

From what I gather, we are re-developing these regions into a more fantastic setting (very possibly including terran legends), to display that new rules system? If this is so, it's very cool.

‘Yes, one may live while never leaving their domicile. But then, they aren’t really alive. Exploring, adventuring, becoming a mercenary - whatever one may call it, it is the blood of the world that many are embracing now. Our reach is advanced nearly everyday, and the stars themselves are in our grasp. That is why I, and many others, continue to learn as we do.’

Sub-Sahara for you, Realm weaver.

And you are correct in your assumption.  Use the legends of that region to develop that part of the global setting.

And still anachronistic? Like we're mixing the various imperial eras with steam and early science (or whatever else we see fit to do)? Like French Revolution meets Charlemagne's knights? Or whatever else?

What?
England.
Just a conspiracy of cartographers, then?

Are we keeping the popultion as human plus beings appropriate to the tales of the regions? Personally i'd prefer that (too bad for you dwarves and elves).

Also, @Soban: how are you thinking of working atlantis, as i kind of want to have the atlantean progenitors worked in to the tales of South America and the building of the temple and such.

If the legends of the region that you are interested in cover more than one time period, go for it.
