This thread is designed for the community as a whole to communicate to Guide contributors on articles, including:

What sorts of things would you like to see in the Guide?

If possible, would you be able to contribute similar articles to the Guide?

For article submitters, post your ideas here to gauge community interest, if you'd like-- the more feedback we get from both ends, the more satisfying the final product will be.

Ok folks, I'll step up here.  I'm considering the writing of a column depicting a new god/demi-god, or other divinity.  I would be willing to write up it's effects on the world, it's followers, and maybe a few adventure hooks as well.  Of course, these wouldn't be vanilla gods, like clones of the greek pantheon.  I'm talking about controversial powers which reverse theme, or even reinforce it to greater effect.  dark sun gods, good death-dealers, and maybe an article on water gods.

Tell me what you want in the article and I'll add it if possible.  I really want to do this, but I'd like to know whether it will be used or is just a waste of space.

*It should be noted that I migth dole out advice on godly dynamics, how to create divinities, uses for the worship of a whole pantheon.  Also, the gods I make can be used as inspiration, to take tiny pieces from and form your own ideas.  I'll do my best to make them adaptable, and even offer suggestions on how to break them down and use their ideas, if it is so requested.

Damn, lotsa words here...

Being a very novice designer I would like to see the thought processes for coming up with custom races, classes, names, pantheons, etc...

The webcomic rumored to be in process is also something I would like to see.

I myself am interested in more "meta" discussion of how to be a good story teller, DM and world builder.

In terms of content, I can whip out cruchy items like magic goods, monsters, spells and races faster than you can say "poof." But I'm also more interested in writing about my experiences and tricks as a DM and world builder.

One thing that I'd find interesting in doing god stuff is suggestions on how to mechanically differentiate the priests of those gods from other gods.

In d20 terms, it would be nice if you'd go to the effort of designing customized domains for the deity, as applicable. For example, in my Hellenic Kingdoms, I wanted to make a Rulership domain for Zeus. There might be something good in a splat book, but I don't buy those. So I'm stuck with making up my own, and the more examples I have, the easier it is.

Other things that would be nice would be custom spells, or variants on existing spells. For example:

Zeus' Dictum [Electricity]
This is similar to the Law spell Dictum, except that the damage is done by a lightning bolt that strikes the caster and then fans out to do electricity damage to all non-allied targets in the indicated range.

It just adds a little something to the deity.

As long as we're turning the CBGuide into a crazy communism, lets have the November Issue be about gods. I'll try to write an article on branching out with religion and accepting animism, cults and idealism as priest options. That is, assuming people enjoy this months article on world scale. >_>

Somebody mentioned water gods? Be sure to include a sea-monster, with many many arms... and stuff.

Just a conspiracy of cartographers, then?

I'd love to see some godsy stuff. Not sure if I'll be able to contribute, I'll get back to you on that.

"Then shall the last battle be gathered on the fields of Valinor. In that day Tulkas shall strive with Melko, and on his right shall stand Fionwe and on his left Turin Turambar, son of Hurin, Conqueror of Fate; and it shall be the black sword of Turin that deals unto Melko his death and final end; and so shall the Children of Hurin and all men be avenged." - J.R.R. Oh, we're not. I'm just getting reader/contributer dialogue open. ;)

Do we want the theme to be gods or religions in general?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves by trying to submit theme ideas for *next* issue-- it'll likely be something related to Gods, the planes, and religion.

We still need articles for issue 2! There's only about a week left, and we still need more content, preferably related to that theme-- horror, darkness, and the unknown.

Speaking of which, I know Crit has a death goddess planned, but does anyone else have any horror material? Witch hunt?

If not, I could always whip out a few monsters or magic items. They're very easy to make, so I as a reader won't find them very interesting.

Elven Doritos

Some drop-and-play monsters and magic items, especially with a breakdown of how horror-themed content can be created and adapted, would be an awesome addition.

Will do. I'll try and get that to you by the end of today.
