BATTLEAXBABY was the name of my first AD&D character, a dwarf female fighter. I began playing advanced 2ndE in the 6th grade, i think it was 1993. I played for several years until I got really caught up in the rave scene and became a drug addict. After years of that b.s. and a few additional years of recovery I am now a fully functional member of society. Woo-Hoo. I rediscovered the wonderful world of gaming over two years ago.
I play Warhammer, Rifts, and have been running my first 3.5 campaign for a little over three months.

STRENGTH VS. WEAKNESS
Im' good at plotting and scheming, and then following through with plots and schemes.
Im' to slow with my combat encounters.
I love mapping everything out and insist on doing everything by hand.
I usually have to waste some precious time to stop and look up rules.
Im' great at roleplaying and pulling dialog out of my arse.

Im' into traditional fantasy and like keeping things simple. I strive for a good balance between roleplaying and hack n' slash. I don't much care for epic level styles or far fetched, crazy settings.
Overall I am novice at best and wish to excel and make gaming a permanent part of my life.

REALITY
I work. Really friggin' hard. For practically nothing. So stay in school all you lil' buggers.
I have been a bike messenger in Philadelphia for the last six years which means I ride a bicycle for 8+ hours a day, seven days a week, though tight traffic delivering a bunch of crap for the man. I mean, really important legal documents and such. I like my job most of the time but it's dangerous and stressful and takes up a bit to much of my life.
I make an extra buck now and then by d.j.'ing and clubs, bars, and house parties. I love electronic music, particularly deep, nasty basslines and high bpm's. I love dancing and making people dance. I admit to being a bit of a drunk and lush for high quality microbrews, especially IPA's. I love rare meat, especially steak and tuna, and despise sweet potatoes.

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

Arse dialog! I wish I had that skill. :D

Too bad you're a traditionalist. I run a bronze-age, high-power, low-magic, epic styled, no-humans, no magical healing, essentially no magical items, animistic, alien world. Wow. If that's not a break from core, I don't know what is.

Welcome to the guild. ^_^

Quotedespise sweet potatoes.

Sweet potatoes are an abomination unto Cabbage.

Welcome to the CBG.  This is cabbage country.
Micros are good.  Magic Hat #9 is my current fav.

Sweet potatoes rock.

If sweet potatoes are an abomination unto cabbage, then I guess I'm a farspawn.

Mmmm... farspawn....  :yumm:

Farspawn are delicious, particularly with a sprinkling of the tears of pure spinsters and the anguished screams of seven thousand sinners on the rack in hell!

Don't listen to Raelifin.  There's nothing wrong with traditionalist settings.  My setting is mostly traditional, though it's since strayed a bit off the beaten path, but at it's core, it's close to the classics.  If you go too far away, you really can barely call it D&D anymore. (I mean, how can you if the only thing you use from the three core rulebooks is the Combat section of the PHB?)  In fact, a lot of these people's settings are not D&D and they disapprove of our kind of settings.  They have every right to do so, and often times their opinions are valid and can still help us, but we have every right to stick to our traditionalism.  Just because there are no 18 eyed anthropomorphic cows (I don't know who came up with that anymore) does not make your setting worthless.

Matt Larkin (author)

In fairness here, Seraphine, the site isn't affiliated with D&D.  Many of the members are most familiar with it, but some of us have not really made it a goal to make D&D settings.  Just to make settings.  D&D has a lot of limitations and issues - its real strength is its mass appeal (and one cannot forget how much that matters).

And welcome the the CBG, battleaxbaby.
