Ninja D!

Sort of, with a more marine sort of feel. Part of the reason I wasn't 100% hooked on the Volus was that I hadn't nailed down a personality, even though I had goals and such.

This character came to me when I woke up. "She" will be a cigar-smoking, gun-carrying, rude, womanizing badass. This would also be the closest I have ever come to playing the opposite gender.

CoyoteCamouflage

So basically a lot like the Matriarch in the bar on Illium. Ya know, the one with the Krogan dad. Who headbutts a Krogan on camera in front of a bunch of spectators.

And is full of so much awesome. :D

Specter? Ew, no. While Kai would most likely love the ability to simply go and do whatever he wanted without question, he's not the sort of figure to attract the attention that might get him named a Specter in the first place. He's a trained Naval Officer-- Space combat from the bridge of a ship, not a Marine trained to fight on the dirt-- which, conveniently, can easily be glassed by any fleet in  orbit if the situation turns dire enough.

Working FOR a Specter, on the other hand, would no doubt be something Kai would greatly enjoy, as he would essentially get the best of both worlds, with the Specter having access to all of the wonderful stuff Specters get access to, without the need to go slogging through combat zones in the mud. That's what the Enlisted ranks are for.

Still, in his kind of work, combat is an inevitability anyway, hence why I opted to spend two feats to give him armor and rifle proficiency. Speaking of which, a sheet will be forthcoming once I finish up the minor details.

A smart Vorcha? A womanizing Asari? A Batarian hating ex-Naval Officer? A libertarian Quarian who doesn't like the Migrant Fleet?

Wow, we have a strange group here.

I love it!

I'll start with the RP in answer to you, Elf.

QuoteI'd like to find out how many of your guy's characters are looking to be Specters. I know NinjaD has tentatively raised his hand, though nothing was finalized. I was going to have you guys begin aboard the C-Sec Patrol Frigate Lorraine, so no one really needs to be a Specter, we could easily have everyone be members of C-Sec and/or hired... Associates (merc is such a dirty word) if you guys would prefer that route. Heck, a mix between Specter, Associate and C-Sec, would be cool.
"C-Sec. F--k. After the attack on the Council they're even more useless than before. They've put a Human in charge, replacing that Turian-arsewad who had me put on surveillance last time I was on the Station. These humans- where in the Bosh'tet Nedas [Son of a B*tch Nowhere] did they come from? A hundred years ago they were what? Stranded on a planet and without a Fleet-worse than the Bosh'tet Krogan. Now they're second only to the Migrant Fleet.

Specter-- So yeah, they're like the licensed jack-booted assassins of the Fascist Admiralty Board that the Council Races have to impose their will on the Galaxy; total discretion, but totally authoritarian. . . F--k it, the Council's a bunch of arsewads too aren't they; got their heads stuck in a Relay they're so swollen with s--t - the Specters don't have to be loyal to the Council. There's no check on them. They, and their crews can do whatever the F--k Tasi Bosh'tet [F--k Nothing B---ard] they want... What's that, (runs a search [&:\ipconfig\debug\~ICSMID\FILE\https:\\interior.data\personnel\100483920), this titwad's got an easy Psych score, cool towards Quarians, likes the following entertainment items, viewed the following movies- "Blasto!: Enter the Elcor", "Fleet and Flotilla, ..."- What a Krogancrap creeper... Yeah, I can get in.[/ic]

Stranger than the groups that Bioware sets up? :D
Seems pretty normal, but fun.

I guess the Vorcha's going to be the Specter :D /jk.

Regarding Languages, is there any point in taking a "Human" language as a bonus language; or did you split them up into English, Russian, Chinese, etc.?

Right now I'm figuring to take the tech-heavy languages:

Common, Quarian, Asari, Salarian, Volus (?), ___ (and I have a blank- right now its Turian; if there's a generic Human language I'd put that there, not too certain what to do if you're splitting up human languages- it would be difficult to choose among Chinese, English, or Russian, etc.)

CoyoteCamouflage

Screw those common languages. Frisian all the way! :D

You can have any language you want, I'm sure English is the lingua franca of Earth, though Chinese, Russian, Spanish, etc. would probably also be common. Everyone has universal translators, so its not exactly like language, in that respect, matters. What does matter is being able to read the language's written form. Sure a computer could do it for you fairly quickly but its no substitute for you being able to glance at a sheet of paper and knowing what it says intuitively.

The Human language could, or could not, become important. What really matters is that its there as a vehicle to describe who your character is and where he came from. :)

Steerpike

Could the Asari be the Spectre?  I can't imagine Archimedes being considered stable enough by the Council to be given Spectre status (plus he's a vorcha for God's sake...).  An asari, though, would make sense, especially a commando/soldier.

EDIT: Then again, they did make Saren a Spectre, and we all know how that turned out.

Elemental_Elf

We should probably talk about the kind of game you guys are looking for.

Do we want to do the Specter(s)-in-Training (with really cool allies) idea? Do we want to do something more C-Sec centric? Or would you guys like to be Guns for hire/Mercs?

Ninja D!

Whatever works for me. I don't think the character I have in mind would be a very fitting Specter. Anything is possible, though. It could be because of connections or some sort of diplomatic things. We could also play it like the Doctor Who RPG and be the crew to an NPC Specter.
