Cadaverous Earth game now taking players

So due to factors beyond anyone's control - scheduling problems, inconvenient time zones, school, etc - the long-running Cadaverous Earth game I've been running for awhile now has been depleted a few players, or has some payers on hiatus.  Some of these players may return (they're certainly welcome to at any time), but I thought I'd at least test the water to see if anyone else might have some interest in playing.  Currently we have 4 active players (not including myself) who show up regularly and a couple who pop in and out.  We play once a week for a couple of hours - current play time is Wednesdays beginning at 1-1:30 EST, though that will probably change eventually.

For those not familiar with the Cadaverous Earth, it's a setting of my own creation (link in signature).  Think Dark Sun meets Bas-Lag: a dark fantasy, post-apocalyptic sort of world on its last legs, hovering on the edge of destruction.  I once described the tone and style of the campaign as "Splatterpunk Sword & Sorcery" - macabre monsters, visceral combat, shadowy intrigue, gloomy cityscapes, hostile wastes, swashbuckling action, eldritch sorcery, and gruesome (sometimes over-the-top) horror.

The system being used is a heavily modified version of Iron Heroes, itself a spin-off D&D 3.5.  I will provide all necessary rules material if you don't have access to them.

You can get a feel for what our adventures are like by reading the campaign log (link also in my signature).

I'm currently thinking of taking on 1-2 new players, as old players may return and we don't want to make the party too gigantic.  If you're interested, post below!

EDIT: If you'd be interested but can't make the current play time, go ahead and post anyway.  It's possible we might be able to work something out.  I can't guarantee it, but we can try.

Update: May only have room for 1 new player.

You probably mean EDT, right? :)
1:00 EST would be 2:00 EDT.
(and also not the eastern time most of the eastern time zone is currently on, I think...)

Llum

I'd be interested in playing, that time slot is not the best but could work if we finished before 4 EDT.

In fact we *have* to be finished by 4, or just slightly after - I have a class at 5 and it takes me half an hour to get there, plus I have to wait for a bus and generally get ready, so even pushing things we end up finishing at 4:15.  I'm wondering whether our start time could be further pushed back, as well (still working out the kinks).  If so we could easily finish promptly at 4 or before and still get plenty of time in for a really solid session.

If you return, Llum, I think we'll have a healthy-sized party.  Would you be bringing Zaszicar back, or would you go for a different character?

It's cool with me to push start time back a bit.
Let the scholar be dragged by the hook.

I have class until 11:30, and class at 4 on wednesdays. So I can play in that time-frame, I have a lounge where I can get internet access at school so its like 3 minutes from my class.

That being said, if tuesdays work I have no class at all. The rest of the week I have class 1pm-4pm+ EDT. But wednesdays work, just other options.

Nomadic

Class for me on Monday and Wednesday is at 3:15pm PST meaning I need to be getting ready and leaving by 2:30pm PST. So earlier would be better for me. That's roughly inside my available time though so that's good :)

Unfortunately I have no real idea of what my schedule will be like after next week. It all depends on what job I end up getting down in Londontown.

EDIT: Just re-read this and saw "typical streetwalker" next to it, as if to imply that that's the job I'm likely to end up with.
all hail the reapers of hope

Ghostman

We can start earlier if needed, far as I'm concerned.

This statement made me laugh.

If the game were quite a bit (a couple of hours) earlier or later I might give it a shot but I'm not sure I could keep up on two games for long, anyway, so don't make any concessions whatsoever on account of me.

Early Tuesdays work, but are not my favorite time.

Just about anything can work for me, except Tuesday/Thursday nights, right now, just so long as I know what the score is.

Tuesdays don't work for Weave, and since the current time-slot more-or-less works for everyone, I think we'll stick with it, though I'd like to move it back to perhaps 12:30 EDT.

With Llum and Weave returning the regulars will be up to 6, give or take absences; if Nomadic's character rejoins the group we'll be at 7, if LD drops in that's 8, and if Crow eventually returns (possibly in a few months) we'd be at a whopping 9 players.  I feel terrible turning down new players after making a thread to recruit new players... but the potential for 10 players or more at a time, online, would be kind of impossible to run, and probably fun for no one - we have a hard enough time when most of the standard party shows up, and with 10 people online NPC interactions would become nightmarish and combat incredibly tedious.

Well if it's overwhelming for you I can stick to more solo sessions with you for now. It would be perfectly in character for Eareg. I could drop in on the group from time to time to join in on major points and then drift off again to keep the player number down and the game more fun for everyone. (besides I absolutely love our solo sessions)
