Gauging Interest: A Plaguelands PbP

Hey peeps!

I was toying with the idea of playing a game in my campaign setting; The Plaguelands. I don't want to commit to playing in IRC and having a set schedule, because I'm not even sure I could respect it myself and I have enough to worry about in real life that I don't want to add the workload of working out game times with funkied up timezones and individual schedules. So, I thought I could, perhaps, host a PbP game. Such endeavor is risky, everyone knows why, but we don't know until we try. I mean, at least for my game. The result can vary depending on the host I guess.

This post is merely to gauge the interest of the fine folks of this community as to playing in the Plaguelands. If this sounds interesting, but you don't know what the hell are the Plaguelands, I suggest you take a few minutes and read about it. The link is in my signature.

To sum it up, it's a, let's say medieval world, but with some primeval elements. It has sorcery, although somewhat frowned upon. The mood is dark and horrific and it's a post apocalyptic setting. This is not your standard happy joy joy dragon hunting setting, it doesn't have happy elves, drinking dwarves and shouting orcs. There are, however, demons and undeads, although they are not necessarily described the same way as in, let's say, D&D.

If we are to play this, I will be using the Elegant10 mechanics from the up and coming Age Past RPG. I believe it's pretty shiny new and doubt most here have even ever heard about it. I won't explain it here. In fact I'll do better than that, I'll let the developer tell you about it right HERE. I strongly suggest going in the download section and getting a copy of the latest Core Rulebook version. Keep in mind some rules (such as spells and classes and other things) have been modified to fit the Plaguelands setting.

So, I'll be waiting for a few answers. I'd like to have at least three participants, but could do with more or a very cool duo. I won't be doing solo games in PbP. Do not hesitate to ask any questions here.

Cheers!

Xathan

Sign me up! :P Waiting for more details, but color me intrigued.

Thought as much :)

There isn't much more ''more detail'' though Xathan. I didn't even build an adventure yet, but since this is my creation I do have a few very cool ideas. Depending on what people will want, (political intrigue, ''police'' intrigue & investigation, hack'n'slash, dungeons, bosses, epicness, w/e) I will build a story according to the general flavor and expectations.

So, I'd be willing to start launching a campaign with just another participant with, of course, the possibility to integrate more as we go. The more we are, the funnier this is.

Xathan

Well, I'll wait till we have a second player to cast my vote on tone and figure out character. :P Looking forward to this!

I haven't finished reading all of the setting information (and I haven't even been to the page to read about Age Past), but what I have read (everything up to the Rampur section) makes me think I'd like playing in this kind of game.

So count me in.

Magnus Pym

Great, I'll start whipping up an adventure shortly then. I'll keep you two posted. (And anyone who joins)

I've been changing a few things. Nothing big, but as I develop the Plaguelands some things are bound to change to make it all more cohesive and overall better. I also embelished some of the text.

Tangential

Just though I'd mention I discovered Age Past just now. Thanks!
