Not around enough to know if you guys discussed it on the IRC/Tavern, but has anyone tried the new edition of D&D?  I got to playtest it a bit earlier in the week, using their test characters.

So far, I think it's ok.  You've got this advantage thing going on, wherein anytime you're "Advantaged" by the rules, you get to roll your D20 twice and pick the best result.  Wizards now have all their cantrips castable at will without exhausting anything, and magic missile is a cantrip.  The fighting classes are still useless - they suck less than in 3.5 (my last edition) but Wizards are more awesome now from what I gather.

Beyond that, it's kind of hard to really review anything - they didn't give full class progressions out, nor are there all the rules in the packet.  Nothing on skills yet at all, which is odd since they gave a number of the characters bonuses.

Any case, yeah.  It's ok.

EDIT:  Dumb dumb dumb.  Looked right past your guy's thread.
I am very fond of tea.

There's an entire thread dedicated to this topic called  the D&D Next (what it's called, not 5th edition) playtest thread.
