[ic=To Angela Rossi, NNN]I would be delighted to make an appearance, Ms. Rossi.  My assistant Syrus will contact you shortly to discuss the details.

Sir Phineo Trennan
Royal Council of Tiriol
[/ic]

[ic=Message to the Royal Council Members]Gentlemen, ladies, it is my distinct pleasure to be counted among such distinguished company.  I am sure we will all became well acquainted with one another, the better to serve our beloved city.  To that end, let me extend an open invitation to any and all of you to my estate.  Whether you may wish to discuss matters of gravity or simply pay a social call, I will be overjoyed to extend my hospitality.

Sir Phineo Trennan[/ic]

[ic=At the Council Meeting]I will confess myself a bit... reluctant to support an industrialist for the position of Lord Militant.  Of course, Mr. Sato, I don't doubt for a moment your expertise in your field or your commitment to the cause, but I feel we need a Lord Militant whom the people trust in military matters.  Uncertain times, Mr. Sato, you understand, yes?  Security, safety, reassurance is what we should value right now.  Myself, I have a bit of name recognition, but I'm afraid it's not the kind we're after.  Now, Marle - ah, Madame Izar, that is a name that the man on the street links with combat, isn't it?  I can hear it already - "She'll give the same kind of hell to the Syndicalists she gives in the arena!"  That's how you gain confidence, ladies and gentlemen, and now more than ever it's confidence we need.  You... had considered running, hadn't you, Madame?[/ic]

[ic=Council Meeting]

It would appear that my name has been offered for Lord Militant. Ms. Romanova, Sir Phin, thank you both for the endorsement. I would be lying if I said it had not crossed my mind. If it is the councils wish that I take the seat of Lord Militant, let them vote. On my knights honor I cannot withdraw my support for Mr. Sato.

[ooc=Election of 888]

Marle Lourdes Izar: 9 votes
Ciara Romanova: 9 votes
Daedalus Sato: 4 votes

The votes are in! By the will of the Electorate executive power for the year of 888 is provisionally vested in Madame Marle Lourdes Izar and Miss Ciara Romanova. As the two leading candidates received an equal number of votes they must confer and agree as to the division of office. If an agreement is not arranged between the two leading parties in timely fashion, a referendum of the Citizens of the Kingdom will be held to determine primacy.[/ooc]

[ic=Message to Marle Lourdes Izar]Madame, I defer to your military expertise. I would like to propose that, according to the Electorate's wishes, you take the position of Lady Militant, and I shall take that of Lady Regent.[/ic]

[ic=Speech before the Electorate]Oh, what confusion this election has brought! It is perhaps a good thing that both Madame Izar and myself are reasonable people, and shall bring this matter to a fair and just conclusion, but what if such a situation should happen again? What if, even worse, decisive leadership is needed, and it cannot be provided due to haranguing over procedure?

Good Electors, I propose a new and improved parliamentary procedure for future votes. Rather than casting a single vote, and leaving it to the Lords to sort things out themselves, the two offices should instead be voted upon independently. We will hold one election for Lord Militant, and a second for Lord Regent. This will also allow those of us who wish to support a candidate for each office to do so, rather than being limited to only vote for one.

[ic=Responding to Ms. Romanova]
I can only agree. Let us work together for the benefit of Tiriol.

[ooc=Vote on New Procedure]Having secured the agreement of Madame Izar and officially assumed the title of Lord Regent, Ciara will now put her new proposed parliamentary procedure to a vote before the Electorate.

The measure being voted on is:
Change the electoral procedure to separate elections. That is, you will cast votes for the office of Lord Regent, and votes for the office of Lord Militant, and have your full allotment of votes to cast in each election.

Naturally, Ciara casts 5 votes in favor.
[/ooc]

[ic=Message to Marle Lourdes Izar]Thank you.
I hope that we can continue our mutual support in the time ahead.

Please consider voting for my proposed change in parliamentary procedure and advising your supporters to do the same.
It will make it easier for me to support you in your endeavors without potentially compromising my own, and for you to do the same, should you choose to.
[/ic]

[ic=Message to Daedalus Sato]
As the most influential member of the Council, you have the most to gain by this proposed change in procedure.
I hope that I can count on your support.

[ic=Speech before the Electorate]

Friends. I thank you for your support in this last election. You have chosen well. I will devote myself to the duties of Lady Militant, and look always to our safety and security. I will not rest until every last Syndicate sympathizer is eradicated from our fair city.

Most of you have by now heard of King Ariam's own revolution. His High General, Reynald Corlon begs us for assistance. This I cannot give him immediately. We must secure our own city first and foremost. The resistance in Five Corners will soon break. The gangs will be brought to justice. This I promise you, as a Knight and Lady Militant of the Royal Council.

Thank you.

[ooc=Orders]

Send a message to Leeward Greene, Sgt. Cmdr of the Gendarmery, to give me a full report on the Gendarmeries status and fighting capabilities. I want reports on the fighting at the Five Corners and what is needed to wrap up the Syndicalist resistance there. This message is friendly but official.

 Send a message to Duke Reynald Corlon, High General of Great Absolon. Assure him the Royal Council and all of Tiriol is behind there glorious revolution. Tell him we will not be marching in force to his aid immediately. Tell him we are a newly formed government and must look to our own security first. If he could provide detailed information on enemy numbers, formations, movements etc. any intel that would be useful in planning our eventual attack would be helpful. Intel like that might help convince us of the plausibility of small scale/guerrilla warfare type attacks on the army. If any assistance other than military force would be helpful ask what that might be.

Spend 2 assets gathering information on the gangs "running the streets" I want to know who is the top-dog and who he trusts/does business with.

Spend 2 assets to select the best soldiers out of our military, and begin developing a "super-soldier' type program. This will be the ground work for a crack-fighting force.

Spend 1 asset researching new sources of Production

[ic=Private Message to Lady Militant Izar]
I see you are decisive, quickly trying to quash the rebels in our city. I also see that you seek to disregard the plea of help from Absolon. I beg you to reconsider, Absolon serves as a shield between Tiriol and the Syndicate, something we need while we sort out the troubles at home. We need not save their city and defeat the Syndicate forces attacking, but perhaps enough support to prevent its fall.

I hope you will graciously consider my plea.

[ooc=Vote]Sir Trennan supports the new voting procedure with his 3 votes.[/ooc]

[ooc=Orders]
  • Make an appearance on NNN as promised.  Go with a military look, but functional, not flashy.  Two main talking points are 1) Trennan has complete faith in the new government and gives his full support to the new Lords, and 2) Absolon is our ally and Trennan will push the government to support them.  Line up other media appearances if possible; let's stay in the spotlight.

  • Sir Trennan will seek to involve himself in the struggle against the Syndicate rebels in Forge, in person if possible (and with his retainers around him).  Objectives here, in order of importance, are 1) Gain the respect and support of the city's militiamen, 2) provide excellent photo ops for wider distribution, and 3) do some damage to Syndicate positions wherever possible.  Spread the message in interviews that our brave militia "deserves our complete support" and that in times like these, everyone needs to contribute to the struggle.

  • Sir Trennan's production is in non-military industry, particularly construction (2) and electronics (1).  Make a survey of areas currently under government control that, because of ongoing gang activity or unrepaired war damage, could be bought on the cheap and repaired/rebuilt with Phineo's companies, then flipped or rented later once the neighborhood is spiffy and gang-free.  We'll work on the "gang free" part later, but for now just make the survey and pick up whatever's hot.  Spend up to 4 Assets in this way.
