From what I've read, the average life expectancy of humans is going up, but the maximum isn't really going up. More people are reaching near the maximum, but no one's really passing it. No sources, though, just what I've heard. We are way past our number of heart beats allotted to most mammals, though.

Percentages would be good. But those are still only really going to effect how fast a civilization will grow and split, not so much it's maximum healthy population, right?

You know, looking at the formulae, I'd say it's more important for you to sort out reproductive characteristics of the races than cap it all with a life expectancy.  if na elf woman only produces one female elf in her life, there's no growth, so it doesn't matter how long they live - there will always be as many elves as you started with.  That kind of points me to the idea that again, lifespan has little to do with anything; how much land it takes to support an elf matters.  if there isn't enough food, elves will just starve before the die of old age and the population gets limited.  if there's enough food for more elves, you may see population growth until they start starving to death.  over the long term, they won't exceed their resources (because lack of resources will reduce their lifespans).
