Quote from: Light DragonMy understanding is that we have 2 channels; #thecbg and #celtricia?
Our "unofficial official" chats are #thecbg for general chat and #thecbg_RP for gaming.
They are "Unofficial official" because nobody's under any obligation to use these channels; you can use whatever channel you want.

Perhaps you could clarify some more- are those two channels you mention the only ones that have the dice roller functions? Or can the scripts work on other channels?

Those two have sparkbot, the "unofficial official" dicebot.
Other channels may have other bots to do their own dice stuff. (isobot, ghostbot, etc.)

Probably February or March, to give people the opportunity to survive the holidays and have some time to plan their oneshots.

In that case, I may be available :)
all hail the reapers of hope

1) "Panel Discussions," perhaps over Skype, where we talk about some kind of topic in world-building (some thoughts off the top of my head: dystopian worlds, "simulationism vs narrativism: a false dichotomy?", ___punk, play by post forum game design).
Color me amused.  I've convinced my department to run one of these around the beginning of March.

In any case, beginning of March time, I'd totes be down for some panel goodness.  We could record the hell out of them for posterity, as well.
Previously: Natural 20, Critical Threat, Rose of Montague
- Currently working on: The Smoking Hills - A bottom-up, seat-of-my-pants, fairy tale adventure!

Sounds fun. We should call it the Turtlecon '13.

Yeah, do record them. I don't have anyway to communicate through skype so I can't particicipate in the discussions.

I second the motion!

The college group that ran the con I mentioned was called "No Such Organization."  The convention was (and is) appropriately titled "NONCON."  I appreciate thematic titles :-D

I wonder if maybe we should maybe name it something that doesn't have to do with turtles.

What a ridiculous idea...

Newb, if you have skype you can listen to the call and type even if you don't have a microphone.

Other question is: is this just a site thing or will it be advertised at other sites to encourage "new blood"

And of course, our speakers will need to have a short blurb biography on their qualifications. :) Like in a real con's brochure.

sparkletwist

Hmph! Listing your qualifications is for people who... well... have qualifications.

LD

You have RPG design qualifications I would suppose- "Designer of Asura, a FATE based system, Sysop for CBG"
Likewise any poster here would have qualifications for a bio.
And those without qualifications obviously should not speak on a subject. :)

But I don't have any qualifications...

LD

If you designed a setting, you have a qualification.
If you won a contest, you have a qualification.
Decide what you want to speak about and then write your bio accordingly to demonstrate why you are the best person to talk about that subject.
Example: Have you read 100 books about the Jazz Age and you want to talk about Settings in the Jazz Age... That's a qualification.
