Scribblings, really. Inspired by your settings. If you recognise something feel free to take it home with you.

A magnificent bastard

At least, I was thinking Bastard's Bastards when I drew it.
The aesthetic is probably more WH40K than weird dieselpunk.
You can still have it if you want it, Superbright!
The others will look right I promise...

Rhamnousia

Good Lord, you have no idea how happy this makes me. While I agree it's rather light on the diesel and even lighter on the punk (no colours!?) it still has a really neat, "used" sort of quality to it that's both elegant and a little gritty. The shoulder plate looks like it was pried off an eldar before having the unit number stenciled on, the cybernetics look like something out of a Moebius comic, and the androgynous features are just icing on the cake of badass.

Just a pen and a sketchpad. I'm pathologically averse to polychrome.

Rhamnousia

I meant the jackets that all Bastards (tallboys being the obvious exception) wear in lieu of formal uniforms.

SA

He's wearing an undersized bombardier jacket. It's ill-fitting and concealed 'neath assorted scavenged oddments, but it's there.

Okay, I see it now; I originally read the upturned collar as being attached to the cape and the garment beneath as some sort of tunic. In my head, the Bastards are made of nothing but Jamie Hewlett art, Frank Frazetta posters, and HBO military series like Band of Brothers and Generation Kill, so seeing them filtered through the lens of someone else's artistic vision is both jarring and exciting.

Not to belabor the point, but I fucking love that beautiful face. The vaguely almond eyes and aquiline nose just work for me.

Momma always said "make the art you'd most want to see". Which begs the question: why do I draw so many blood orgies?

Disclaimer: no blood orgies real or imagined will ever be featured on this thread.

Of course not; this is fanart of the Bastards, not So Spins the Lonely Moons...

Weave

This is really good, SA. I love the sort of soft, unfinished-yet-complete style of it - there's something unsettlingly horrifying about it, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what. Is this done in ink?

Thanks. It was a labour of... well it was certainly a labour. Haven't drawn anything in several years.

Sure, you could call it that. It's actually just unfinished. I drew his legs but they sucked hard.

Perhaps you are allergic to transhumanism?
QuoteIs this done in ink?
Yes. Most things I draw on impulse are drawn in ink. Now I'm going to start drawing with intent, which happens in pencil.

Quote from: SteerpikeI'm sad now.
Just because they're not in this thread doesn't mean they're... not.

I'm allergic to many things. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of them. I guess it'll have to be a love-hate.

Huh! I seem to work backwards. My sketches are in pencil and my more "finished" productions are in ink. Your way makes more sense.

Also, the other drawings make me wish I could somehow enter your head and understand how you come up with such brilliant and bizarre creations. Well done!

The same way I come up with my settings: let my mind wander until I end up in the Bad Part™ of my subconscious, then beat feet with whatever I can carry before my Id can catch me.

Humabout

Me likes!  I may raid your drawings for some ideas, if you don't mind
