Mages Ace

Quote from: IntroductionThe Despari Gang stood over the desert from the height of a hellish cliff, almost like an eagle peering from a tall, dead willow tree. The leader, Samat McVeer almost looked like a raptor too, as he glared down at the Ethorium Express blazing it's mystic oils into the cold desert air. His gang was not much to look at, but make no mistake, Butcher McVeer was not the kind of man to ever pay his quittance to incompetence. They may seemed like a collection of cutthroat rejects, but they were no fools, and they knew there way around a fight, and tonight there would be blood parted. There mission was clear; they were hired to make there way onto the 967 Freight and get their grubs on whatever piece of alchemical machinery the Scowrey Bros. Company was putting their fortitude towards. McVeers gut finally caught up with his head, and he gave the signal to push on. Everyone loaded their Eldritch Guns, and skulked into the sandy night.

Montesuma is a small reality that resides within a vast collection of realms that exist within a spherical universe simply known as the Nether-Realms. There are thousands of small worlds, and as such, there are thousands of different cultures, each with their own distinct flavor and spice. Magic naturally permeates its way through the threads and rivers of the Nether-Realms and pass through the worlds that inhabit it. Magic comes in so many different forms that devoting time to each form would take up a whole tome, at least. For now we will focus solely on Montesuma.

As said before, magic permeates through the Nether-Realms in various ways. In some realms, magic flows through the spirits of beings, and gives them the ability to cast spells, while in others, magic requires rituals to cast even basic spells. In Montesuma, Magic tends to come in the form of magical materials, and thus magic tends to resemble a fantastic form of chemistry as opposed to typical spell casting. This has lead to a psuedo-scientific form of magic that is run on mechanical machinery combined with alchemy. The Montasumans have become relatively adept at building machines that make long distance travel and heavy industry possible. Trains that run on a substance called Etherium roar across the deserted landscape, and firearms that run on alchemy which often leads to a very wide variety of munition being experimented and developed.

As for the culture that permeates around this new technology, it bares an uncanny resemblance to old western frontier culture in the United States, both in terms of Culture, and aesthetic. Cowboys roam the plains and deserts of Montasuma, and pioneers face the dangers of trying to settle a magically infused landscape. Desperadoes skulk and plunder, and bounty hunters track them down with ruthless resolve. The politics are similar to America as well, as the Federal Republic of Montesuma is, as the title suggests, a federal republic. Often called the Tri-Star Republic, the Federal Government is comprised of elected officials, including a president, a handful of congressman, and a senate that govern over three states; New Havenworthe, Desvalado, and East Sarkosa

Yes. Still working on it though.

So I'm working on races right now, and some of my ideas include Armadillo people, Lizardfolk, (mostly) healed vampires, quasi-dead folk based around Día de Muertos, and other races, but i need to think.

Desvalado (Sleepless in spanish) is a land based around Aztec culture, with Dia de Muertos flavor. Basically it's a latin-american land with a lot of undead or death related people. So if anyone has any ideas on how to make a race of people based around being dead, be my guest to suggest.

Also I don't just want to make "humans". Is there anyway to make a race like the Hylians from Hyrule. A race of human like beings intrinsically tied to the world itself, rather than just having humans for the sake of having humans?
