[ooc] This is the "idea" thread where I will jot things down. Creative hemorrhages one poster calls it. This is a brainstorming thread, where I am more than happy to hear suggestions and comments. AICTM to ask? That would be the phrase "As It Comes To Me", my friend Deadone coined for a similal thread of his regarding his campaign of Julnar on Dicfreaks.

And yea, Tirno stood alone in the cathedral of green, his ancestral home of Dra'lambion, a voice rolling and ringing through him, powerful and sweet, the song reached above the trees. The last of the Eldin Udh sang as he died, as his blood in reds and silvers soaked the earth. A powerful dweomer Tirno laid upon Asidhelalialey hiding it from the ravages of men and dragons and time. It is bound now beyond perception, a city free, even as his own spirit is.

I am bad at putting these together but thought I'd try to spell out how I say them. Apologies if it lacks exactness, especially in the last few.

Every man must die...but first, we must live.

In the time after the Great Inheritance the elves tell a story of the 170 kingdoms. Across the land they spread some like sunlight on wildflowers others like rust on an iron chain. They filled the world with their songs and their hope and their dance. Some were mighty, some were intelligent, some were great, some were alien and wonderful and terrible and wise.

In a particular kingdom in the far noth of what is now Nordgard. It's name forgotten in time and rightly so lived The Many and the One. Cloistered those who lived in the aerie reaches and soaring snow-scaped cliff lived this clan of elves. A king came to power who is ordered his name purged and all refer to him as the One. This display of arrogance so complete, was tantamount to complete sin. This white king was not without power, the power of prophecy forbade he be killed even as his actions became more and more heinous. For this king wore above his brow a black doom, the eclipse of a moon was his birthmark and it was said that him with such a mark would lead all elves to a new enlightened Age. As a young elf he was not king, rather stealing the Crystal Throne from his uncle by Kinslaying. And even in this they could not a one bring a hand against him by ancient law.

And the One, called down a ritual to remake the elves in his image and at once and with finality even lord, maiden, and babe caught the countance and precise features of the One. His rallying song among them came and the each with his blessed face rejoiced and gathered there arms. The Many were born. And the Many were the One as the One was the Many. And They thought that all should be as them, [insert description. pale, white hair, black eyes]. From the mountains they came adorned for war, but they came as a shadow. The sun would not glint off their armour, the moon would not kiss their skin, and no earthly creature would bear them, not any material bear their touch. Unnatural as the Sea' ch yet of the world, the Many and the One were a paradox. Only magic among all that is real would still bend to their will.

Alien and white the wicked winter elves, beautiful and terrible at once, they fell.

From then on the Legendary One-Hundred and Sixty-Nine Empire flowered. The Many and the One came to be known as the Shadow Elves and their pride led to many cataclysms that culminated in The Solstice War, but that is another tale.

The Eldin Udh are often know as ælfe in the faritytales and legends pertaining to them. The first men call them this, while they are named the Tur by the dwarves. Neither of these names have ever been claimed by Tirno, or the other few that may have heard them.
