This is the place for all criticisms and comments on my Ifpherion: Age of Expansion setting thread.
‘Yes, one may live while never leaving their domicile. But then, they aren’t really alive. Exploring, adventuring, becoming a mercenary - whatever one may call it, it is the blood of the world that many are embracing now. Our reach is advanced nearly everyday, and the stars themselves are in our grasp. That is why I, and many others, continue to learn as we do.’

I read through all of Ifpherion when you mentioned it in the Recycle Bin thread a while back, and enjoyed it quite a bit, so I'm glad its making a comeback. I particularly enjoyed the nations of Ifpherion, all of which were well-detailed and had a very "lived-in" feel to them.

In fact, ever since I read them over a month ago, I've been planning on adapting several of Ifpherion's OGC nations for the community world of Cebexia. With luck, that might generate a little extra traffic for the source material of Ifpherion itself.

Why thank you. I might preserve the old version somehow, so that people (including me) can continue to draw inspiration from it. This version, even though it has, or will have, a much more cohesive theme and organization, is still different enough to keep them seperate.

Looking good.  I read through much of the material other nations, which I may look at later.

One suggestion might be to start the main thread with a link to the discussion page, so people just viewing that know not to post there.  I wouldn't have known other than my having happened to spot this thread further down.

The stellar placement info is a nice touch.

Also, out of curiousity, do the colonies on the moon mean that the people have spaceships.  The implication seems to be yes, since some species come from other planets.  If the society has the technology to invent rocket propulsion, it seems wierd that swords would reamin common, unless you introduce some reason:
such as tradition/ritual combat
or Dune-style force shields which stop fast projectiles.

I kind of like the former, since it would then become a mark of honor to carry a blade, whereas PCs might have to worry about dishonorable enemies that use rocketlaunchers.

Oh jeez, I forgot to have the links reciprocal. Thanks for noticing that.

They do indeed have ships; though they're not quite at the point of settling other planets yet, there are most likely plans to do so. There are already colonies on the moons, and several exploratory missions around the system have been accomplished.

As for swords, they are mostly for those with neither the skills for magic or the money for rifles, such as new Baronial Navy trainees, or the Jalarhi villagers in Horsland.

I added information on the Kingdom of the Forgotten to the main page. This is the first time i've involved drug use in anything to do with D&D, so I hope it proves interesting.

I went ahead and moved Elves to the Offworlder category. It did not feel right to have both elves & half-elves, because they largely fulfilled the same purpose. As well, I think that having half-elves only will enforce the idea that they evolved from humans.

I posted some info on the Nightshade Kingdom, as well as a tiny bit on the third of the 4 moons. I would've posted more, but my inspiration has dried up today.

Quite right. Once again, you have proved invaluable.

I have to say that the thing that struck me the most was that list of magical items at the end, they're both whimsical and useful at the same time. It's a generally nice application of steampunk/steamagic which I enjoyed reading.

Realm Weaver, I like what I've read so far. It reminds me of a setting Elven Doritos worked on (he'll correct me if I'm wrong, but it seemed like he was trying to Star Trek-ify D&D). I like your notion of magical technology.

As of right now, I don't have too much to say, but in the spirit of construction, I'd like to know what you would like more feedback on. Direct me, and I can focus my efforts.

Thank you.

I admit, the biggest problem is really just finding inspiration to complete the rest of the world. If you have any ideas for nations/geographic regions/unique organizations, that would be greatly appreciated. I'm also thinking of going to D&D playing friends irl to see what they would want or expect in a world.

I'm also debating whether or not to use the d20 Modern skill set - it has skills for Computer Use and Demolitions, both of which are available here. I could just group them under Knowledge (Technology}, but I don't know.

The d20 Modern skill set is pretty reasonable, so you might want to just go with it. Also, keep your eye on the Starwars Saga Edition, which is doing further condencing of skills (also, check out Mutants and Masterminds, which does other condencings).

I'll toss you any ideas for nations, regions, and organizations. Swing by my race thread and you might get some ideas there too.
