The Campaign Builder's Guild

That's a nice one.  Chris Malidore's got a grand picture there, and your choice of coloration for the lettering is right one.  It doesn't hurt the image, and yet it makes a solid blending into it due to the yellow being a similar hue to the glow the golem is giving off.  I like this one.

I really want to contribute, but I can't think of anything to put in. :(

I love the fact that the golem and the human both have the same look on their faces.

I have a question.  I've never brought this up in the past, and maybe I should have, but I'll do it now, and I'll do it here so that many other "word-and-language" experts can chime in on their opinion.

You'll notice that our guild is named "The Campaign Builders' Guild," with the apostrophe after the s in "Builders."  That makes the plural possessive (and there are a plural number of members here in the guild, and a plural number of campaign builders "out there").  When we say "The Campaign Builder's Guild," (with the apostrophe before the s) for some reason, I feel like something is wrong.  I know that it gets down to the same point, and in terms of possessiveness, it's simply saying that this guild belongs to the campaign builder, whomever he or she may be, but the singular form always strikes me as odd and out of place for some reason.  Am I just losing it, or is there some relevance to this?

I think we could arguably do without the apostrophe entirely.  E.g. The Screen Actors Guild.  But yeah, if it's "The Campaign Builder's Guild," it does imply the guild belongs to a single campaign builder.

Oh, I must agree with Ishmayl 100% here.  One of the things I immediately noticed about the website was that Buidlers was plural possessive.  I appreciated that.  I would have to agree in saying that the guide should also be plural possessive.

That is correct if the title was "Campaign Builders'Guild", but the name we all agreed apon was "[A] Campaign Builder's Guide". As the magazine is a guide for campaign builders, the singular is for the reader, the campaign builder that wants guidance.


Now if you are actually talking about the Guild and not the Guide, ignore the above.

But couldn't the a be adjusting the guide, therefore being A Campaign Buidlers' Guide, where Campaign Buidlers' is who the guide belongs to, but its only a singular guide?

I found the thread where I suggested the name (I had too, I couldn't remember if it was an A or The), the name I suggested meant it was a guide for the reader. Thus "[The] Campaign Builder's Guide". It appears the The got dropped when the name was chosen. (I also found out that it wasn't decided by the little people. Of the two people liked "News from the Multiverse" was winning, but "[The] Campaign Builder's Guide" won out in the end)
