I guess I'll decide on whether or not to keep doing this based on participation this month.  I hope we get some more in here.

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

Hmm... December may be a bad time for this sort of thing (and the Guide, or most anything else for that matter). I've noticed that very few people have actually been around in the last little while, and if they have been, it's been with fairly little activity. I don't mean to sound rude or to seem as though I'm going against the contests and the production of the Guide, but it might work better in the future if issues and contests for a certain time period or holiday season are put out before or after the season begins/ends.

As well, this particular contest is more about the rules than the previous one, which is not the specialty of some on these boards (me included). I have many ideas about possible races, but to come up with full statistics is a little bit intimidating.

What i'm trying to get at is, don't count out the Contests based on just this one. I'd love to take part in more.
‘Yes, one may live while never leaving their domicile. But then, they aren’t really alive. Exploring, adventuring, becoming a mercenary - whatever one may call it, it is the blood of the world that many are embracing now. Our reach is advanced nearly everyday, and the stars themselves are in our grasp. That is why I, and many others, continue to learn as we do.’

To throw in a dissenting opinion, I rather like this contest and plan on entering when I'm done with the new race I'm working on.  Though, admittedly, they feel a bit bland to me.  I'm trying to figure out some ways to spice them up.  Oh well, I still have a couple days to figure it out!

I would keep doing it even if turn out for this one is low. In the future though I would stick to flavor contests rather than crunch. There is a lot more that I wanted to do for my entry, but work got in the way. I was going to have history, society, religion, etc sections, which probably would have made this contest more appealing if those where the required elements for this contest. Sticking to flavor also allows those familiar with a few systems the ability to judge or create an entry.

You can also have crunch sub-contests. Take this contest for instance. The main contest would have been the flavor of the race, while a second sub-contest could have been to stat the creature out and create an encounter with said creature. The biggest problem is now you have more to judge.

@ Captian Obvious: Mine was colored first :P (I have to gloat about something, you have more detail and a better layout)

Good entries guys,

And I must say, contrary to the [seemingly] popular opinion, I really like the new stat blocks; I don't know why for sure yet, but I really like that the most important battle-information is right up front (top).

What is going on with this contest and further contests?
Has it been judged yet? (for that matter, where there ever more than our 2 entries?)
Are there going to be more contests?

There will be more contests, it took me awhile to get a few together that were suitable, so I just decided to wait and do a February contest.  As for this contest, since only two people entered, I believe Eldo and I decided to just put both of them in the next Guide, and we'll get back to actually doing "contest" form next month.
