Moran timidly raises his hand and says, "umm, I'm not saying I'm in favour of one choice of the other, but can we even talk to them? How do we know any of them will speak common?" [/ic]

[ic=Almax] Almax scoffs, You think acting now will give us any kind of advantage. If we approach they will either get scared and run for help or attack. This is their land, they know it better than you. Besides who said the ones watching from the bush were the only ones around. Almax watches the bush for a moment before adding. We have no advantage here. They can see us as well as we can see them. They will react. If you want you can send someone back to signal the other groups just in case. [/ic]

 [ic=@Ankh and Kevkas]From off ahead of you and further into the trees, you suddenly hear a great peircing cry ring out. Looking in that direction you see a few large bats flying above you through gaps in the trees. They then break out above the tree tops and speed away over the woods. There is no way the sound could have come form creatures so small - is there?
Kaebo drops into a crouch and begins to scan all around the woods nearby.
Jorik pulls off his cloak and tosses it at Ankh with a quick "here, hold this." No sooner has he tossed it than his body begins to change. Within the span of seconds, in his place hovers a small hawk that takes off towards the capony to look for the source of the sound.[/ic]

[ic=Almax]Very well. Almax steps forward slowly with his hands in plain sight. He stops and calls out to the bush. Hello, you don't happen to speak common do you? Or do you speak a dwarven? Or perhaps you speak Orcish? Or do you speak Elven? [/ic]

[ic=Ankh]Ankh shows no sign of surprise, but merely holds the cloak impassively, watching.[/ic]

[ic=@Almax and Dain]You notice the figures behind the bushes spin to look at you in surprise - they appear to have not seen you earlier. Then a head pops up above the bush.
It's DuKaine. "Damnit, orc! This was supposed to be our section. You're too far north." He steps out from the undergrowth, with his group following. "We just found some, but you lot will bring them down on us making so much noise." He turns to the man in leathers behind him. "Cedrin, keep putting those snares together. We'll transport them with us."
The man he adressed returns to the bushes muttering about "They are far more than just snares. No appreciation..." [/ic]
 [ic=@Kevkas and Ankh]With Jorik still off in the treetops, Kaebo continues to scan the woods. "Do either of you see anything? I'm not seeing an..."
He is cut off by a massive roar and a huge gust of wind causes the trees to part ver breifly. Through the gap you can see a massive dragon covered inebony scales lift off from a clearing some ways ahead and to the south. It swoops low and begin to fly back and forth above the trees rabidly - apparently trying to catch something much more nimble than it. What the quarry might be though, there is no sign.[/ic]

[ooc]Umm..what color is the dragon? And how old is it?[/ooc]

[ooc]You didn't get that good a look at it, but it was black and looked about 40 feet long including the tail, and had about the same as a wingspan. [/ooc]

[ic=@Almax and Dain]Moran speaks up. "Well since we ran into each other and you've already found some, maybe we should go check them out as a group. Huh, what about the rest of..."
Kolchack cuts in. "I do not wish to fight with him, but if he is needed to find the lizardsm, then i will go with him."[/ic]
 [ic=@Ankh and Kevkas]The small hawk-Jorik swoops back into the clearing and return to his form before he even hits the ground. "I don't believe the dragon saw me. I see where it came from though. There a clearing with a mound of rocks not far ahead. We would have walked straight into it. The bats it was chasing, though. They were strange. They seem trained in evasive maneuvers and they have small straps hooked onto their bodies. If i had to take a guess, I'd have to say they were hunting animals."
Kaebo speaks up. "But why would a massive dragon chase bats? and why are they out in the day?"[/ic]

[ic] "Well, I believe that this matter deeems itself worthy of investigation, however we should tread slowly considering the dragon would probably kill us all without a second thought if it found us. I say we continue our search elsewhere, and let the present matter present itself when the time is right." [/ic]

Something occurs to him and he stops to think.
Thining aloud "It flew away fast... really quick... could be anywhere by now... anywhere except for here... it's not here..."
"It's left the woods! Do you realise what this means?"[/ic]

[ooc]By my estimations the dragon is anywhere from the Adult category to the Old category, and considering we are, what? 2cnd level? I highly doubt we could kill it.[/ooc]
