[ic]Almax stops with his hands visible. He stands there waiting for the lizardfolks next move.[/ic]

[ic=@almax]The lizards stand around and gradually begin to form a slowly closing semi-circle of speartips around Almax. The continue to yell at you in their hissing language. Coming from near the center of the village, you see two lizards approaching - a tall one, whose black scales contras with the green of those around him, and a stooped one, with a long cloak made of differently coloured feathers. The walk slowly, but purposefully and soon reach the edge of the circle where room is made for them.

[ic=Almax]Hello, you don't happen to speak common do you? Or do you speak a dwarven? Or perhaps you speak Orcish? Or do you speak Elven? [/ic]

[ic=@Ankh]The one with the black scales says something to the cloaked lizard who then says in shaky common, "I am shaman of tribe. This is mighty Quessorixatl. Speak fast, softskin. Why do you enter marsh of Stonescales?"[/ic]
 [ooc]Whenever you are making a argument or trying to sway/mollify them, make a Diplomacy check along with it (or bluff/intimidate if they seem more appropriate).[/ooc]

[ic=Almax]I was passing through a nearby village. People there have disappeared. Many there blame your people. They say that the lizardfolk are taking them and they want vegence. I have come to prevent bloodshed on both sides. There are others around, watching me. A few wanted to attack first thinking the your people are not much more than animals, the others with them will follow the orders of the few. I just want to talk, and hope to resolve this peacefully. The ones watching, though hesitant, have agree to try things my way. [/ic]

[ic=@Almax]The cloaked one translates your words and the lizards all begin to spread out and look around as the black scaled one bellows something out.
"There are others? Where are they? Make them come out," says the shaman. He then listen to the chief and translates. "We have not taken your people. Why would we do that? There is not even any meat on you."

[ic=Almax]If I have your word that no harm will come to them, I will call them to come out. And they are not my people. I told them your people had nothing to do with it. I came to make sure there was no blood shed and to see if you had any information that could aid us on our search.


[ooc]If the lizardman gives his word and if Almax believes he means it (Sense motive just in case =20)[/ooc]

Almax turns and yells Come out. They do not wish to harm us. We are on their land, put your weapons away and come out. [/ic]

[ic=@Almax]The shaman and cheif consult briefly, then the shaman say, "Mighty Quessorixatl syas for you to to out, and not be hurtsed. We do not look for fighting."[/ic]
 [ooc]He seems to be telling the truth. Spelling errors for dialog of people unfamiliar with languages are usually intentional.[/ooc]
 [ic=@Almax]At his words, you companions come out of the bushes and most sheathe their weapons, but not all. A few - DuKaine, Moran and the Dwarf from the other group still have their weapons.
"Say your piece, lizard," spits DuKaine, "but we ain't putting our steel up unless you lot do. Or your sticks at least. You don't look to even have any good steel at all."[/ic]
 [ic=@Ankh and Kevkas]You reach the bushes and see into the clearing. A massive mound of large rocks covered in earth and moss rises out of a wide pond that seems to vary greatly in depth. There is no sign of any oppening in the mound from where  you hide though.
Of more interest, though, are the crowds of small bipedal reptillian beings at the far end of the mound - kobolds. From what you can make out there are a number of them - about a half dozen - and possibly more behind the mound. Most see to be watching the marsh and the sky nervously, while the rest seem intent on the mound itself.

[ic=@Ankh and Kevkas]The Kobolds continue at their work and a fter a short time you see a group of them emerge from behind the mound carrying some large round object. It's larger than their torsos and there's four of them carrying it. The object is a mottled gray in colour - it looks almost like an egg, but it's far off an is dificult to see cleary due to the kobolds standing in the way. As the bearers move off into the woods, the rest of the group begin to leave as well.
One of the lookouts happens to glance in your direction and notices Ankh's metal shoulder sticking out from the bushes. He spins around and gives a cry of alarm to the others. The carries pick up pace hurrying off into the trees, while many of the rest turn to face the bushes you are hiding in.[/ic]
 [ooc]If your actions involve exiting ther bushes for the purpose of combat at any point, then go ahead and roll initiative with your post.[/ooc]

[ooc] Waiting on the reply from the Lizards for Dukaine's comments[/ooc]

[ic=@Dain and Almax]The shaman translates and the chief clicks a command to his warriors. They styop pointing their spear in your direction and take a more relaxed pose.
The chief then speaks, and it is translated by the shaman. "I do not know why you say we have your people. We do not go near stone cities. They are not real life." [/ic]

[ic=Almax] I too, would like to know what evidence has pointed to these people. Following your mob mentality has wasted precious time.[/ic]
