Quote from: PoseidonA Totem(rings) society may even despise the Arcane classes, because they do not ask for the rings magic (praying) they take it instead.

Now that is very cool concept. A society that hates arcane casters for their 'stealing' of the energy of their gods!

Ok since the Poll doesn't work and Turin seems to have abandoned the project, I'm listing who is for or against a certain idea. There use to be a lot more people discussing the setting, so I do not know how many people need to be for an idea before it goes Wiki.

Put me down as For: I like the way that is going. I'll post more detailed feedback later on, but for now, definately For.

I've talked to Turin, he said that he doesn't have the time to moderate this project anymore. I am willing to take over as project moderator if no one disagrees (basically doing what I've been doing now, summaries, votes and other such house keeping). If there are no objections I am going to give everyone until midnight next Sunday (EST) to post alternate ideas, or bring up problems with the Faith Based proposal. If by that time nothing has changed then the Faith based proposal will go into the WIKI.

OK, no one posted anything. So it looks like the Faith based system is the new divine system for Cebegia. I've been a little busy lately so I will make the new threads shortly.

If someone wants to clean up/write it to the Wiki, please do.

Reposted for convience.

Religion in Cebegia:
Divine magic comes from ones faith. It does not matter what that faith is in, as long as it is strong. This is why when many of the civilizations were forming believed that large or strange creatures granted them powers. Their civilizations grew worshiping these creatures. Other civilizations found faith in other things, such as volcanoes, strange mechanical things, the rings of Cebegia, the elements, nature, former heroes or anything else. The domains associated with these creatures and such are determined by the ideals they represent. If the last sentence was confusing the example list should clear things up.

The Tarrasque : Strength, Destruction, Chaos
The Rings of Cebegia : Magic, Knowledge, Protection
Volcano : Fire, Earth, Destruction
Elementalism : Fire, Water, Earth, Air
Nature : Earth, Protection, Animal, Plant
Kraken : Water, Animal, Travel
Sun : Law, Sun, Good
Shadows : Evil, Death, Trickery

Bummer, my Death Ravens ended up on the cutting room floor. Oh well.
What about the Saints? I don't seem them listed or was this the Totem Only portion of Faith Magic?

The list is only an example list. Not the final list. The final list will be done when the regions have been fully populated. If you make a civilization that worships ravens, then they will make the final list :)

The list is just an example of how the Totems, Ideals, or Saints would be associated with domains.
