Okay folks, here's where you'll put up your nominations for the Guildies awards.  Remember, there are eight categories.

1 - Friendliest Poster
2 - Rookie of the Year
3 - Old Folks
4 - Best Username
5 - Best Setting Badge
6 - Best Avatar
7 - Most Prolific Poster
8 - Best Original Crunch
9 - Best Setting

Let's define each of these.

Friendliest Poster - This member is always helpful, and is known for rarely (if ever) having anything negative to say to anyone.  This member meets and greets newcomers and old timers alike, and always has something nice to say.

Rookie of the Year - This member is no older than four months old on the site, and has contributed in many useful ways, including (but not limited to) reviews, creating crunch, participating in the Guide, etc.

Old Folks - This member has been a regular on the site for at least a year (from the time of this posting), and has contributed in many ways since the CBG's inception.

Best Username - This username is original, fun to roll off the tongue, and has been with the member for awhile now (aka, the member is known by this username).

Best Setting Badge - This badge is a beautiful work of art (for a 22x22 graphic) that you feel accurately describes the tone of the campaign setting it represents.  Or, you just think it looks cool! :)

Best Avatar - This avatar is original, and well-descriptive of either the personality, or the name, of the member.

Most Prolific Poster - This member may occasionally have harsh criticisms, but it cannot be doubted that he never posts unless he has something useful to say.  Maybe he doesn't even post that often, but when he does, everyone on the site notices.

Best Original Crunch - This mechanic is flavorful, balanced, and original.  (The crunch creator takes the prize for this one).

Best Setting - This campaign setting is very well detailed, with enough information to run an entire campaign, and is full of unique, original features.  It is acceptable that the setting is hosted somewhere other than the CBG, as long as the setting's author is an active member of the CBG.  (The campaign creator takes the prize for this one).

Here are the rules again:

*All nominees must accept their nomination.  If you're nominating someone who hasn't been around the site much lately, you need to get them here to post in the thread and accept their nomination.

*You cannot nominate yourself.

*While I appreciate the sentiments, I will not be accepting nominations for myself.  That does not disallow brainface or Eldo from being nominated though, so if you are so inclined, do nominate them for things.

*Nominations will start being accepted at midnight tonight - 12:00 AM EST, Friday, June 01, 2007 - and will run through 12:00 AM EST, Sunday, June 17, 2007.  That gives you two-and-a-half weeks to nominate people.

Get to nominatin!

Túrin

Friendliest Poster - How wonderful. There are so many people on this site this title would look good on.

I nominate Rose of Montague.

In that day Tulkas shall strive with Melko, and on his right shall stand Fionwe and on his left Turin Turambar, son of Hurin, Conqueror of Fate; and it shall be the black sword of Turin that deals unto Melko his death and final end; and so shall the Children of Hurin and all men be avenged." - J.R.R. I think that as a qualification they should at the very least be members of this site.

Ishmayl-Retired

To answer a few questions:

You can nominate a setting that is off this site, as long as the setting creator is an active member.  (ie, not someone who joined, then never posted other than to point off the site to).  The reason for this is not to disqualify quality sites or settings, but rather, I want to keep things as Guild-oriented as possible.

And guys, why I thank you so much for your nominations of me, they really mean a lot (I love my turtle, too!), I will be declining the nominations.  I should have mentioned that I won't be participating (I would feel silly giving myself an award if I won :)).  However, don't let that stop you from nominating Eldo or brainface if you are so inclined.  I'm not disallowing them from participating by any means.

Salicious Angel, do you accept your nominations?

Cheers!

Okay, updated with my answer about off-site settings, plus I added a ninth category:

Best Setting Badge - This badge is a beautiful work of art (for a 22x22 graphic) that you feel accurately describes the tone of the campaign setting it represents. Or, you just think it looks cool! :)
