Random Encounter: Trial by Combat

# of Players: 3
Level: 5
Please list all spells/powers/invocations known or prepared, or list pacts made or soulmelds shaped, depending on class

Quote from: The SettingYou are a native of Shardin Kordath, a nation where any crime is tried by combat. You have been working against the oppressive regime in power there, and for your efforts you were capture, and now stand trial.

The three of you are teleported from your cell into the center of an arena. It is an expanse of sand a hundred feet long by a hundred feet wide, with thick stone walls forty feet tall. In the middle of each of the four walls rests a iron gate.

The stands sit about fifty feet above the arena, floating in the air and incased in walls of force. You know that the arena is heavily guarded, but that if you defeat the trials in fair combat, you will be allowed to go, acquitted of all charges. All your gear is with you and on you: this is a fair fight, though the foes promise to be difficult.

The gate to the south begins to slide open, and there is movement in the darkness behind it.

I'm going to have to turn this one down: The character I have pre-gen that I need tested out is geared too high than the other PCs for it to be fair. His starting gold upon creation for his original campaign (which he was rejected from) was around 3,000 gp, and his given skills hinge on his feats, which in turn hinge on his weaponry... X(

I gripped my pole arm in anticipation and begin backing away from the threatening opening.

"Lets stick together, Gauldin.
We must gang up on whatever comes out of that door !"[/ic]
Quote"So, Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for earth has just begun!" the two said in a statement that seemed to parody Scientology as science fiction. "Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail! Hail Xenu!!!"

Gauldin nods, saying, "Let's work together, it's the only way to get out of here alive." Gauldin slowly pulls out an arrow and slides it beside his bow.

Eats brains here! Ugh!
That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.
"To obtain a deep, restful, and fulfilling sleep, you must first submerge yourself in your cyclopean city of hideous non-Euclidean geometries beneath the sea, and then let your body die. But don't worry! As long as you continue to emanate enough evil thought-energy to influence and control your many worshippers throughout the untold eons, they will resurrect you when the time comes. I guarantee it!"
Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive."

(as Stegosaurus) "We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land'."

(as T-Rex) "I think we should call it...your grave!"

(Stegosaurus) "Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

(T-Rex) "Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh...now die!"
No! penury, inertness and grimace,
In some strange sort, were the land's portion. "See
Or shut your eyes," said Nature peevishly,
"It nothing skills: I cannot help my case:
'Tis the Last Judgment's fire must cure this place,
Calcine its clods and set my prisoners free."

[ic=The Monsters]The gate thuds to a halt. There is a moment of silence from the crowds as they wait to see what comes out of the gates.

You hear one thudding foot step. Then another. An unusally large specimen of a minotaur steps out. It stands nearly twelve feet tall. Itâ,¬,,¢s body is covered in scales, and its hands end in wicked claws. Two large, bat-like wings sprout from its back. It opens its mouth and lets out a thundering bellow, then lowers its head and charges Jon-ter-slavin.
