Stargate525

I just got back from the movie, and I thought I would share my thoughts with you, whether you want them or not.

First off, DISNEY CAN STILL DO ANIMATION! I mean the last real animated movie they put out was, what Treasure Planet? Atlantis? Brother Bear? And even those used full-on CG effects (not entirely sure on brother bear, but I know about the other two). The beginning of this... classic animation with a twist of modern lines. Why don't they make movies like that anymore?!

Second, I'm tickled to death that one of the characters has my name. Even funnier is that he's got more in common with me than that.

Thirdly, it's just plain funny. One of the great movies that has comedy for both the parents and the kids, and one of the first times in ages that I went to a movie and came out with my sides sore.

All in all, I give it a 9 out of ten, simply becuase I'm mad at Disney for not doing more classic animation.

Anyone else have thoughts? Comments? Discussion on how the plot iseas might make a good campaign setting?

I work at Disneyland, and I've tried to keep up with the goings on in the industry; as much as a half-outsider really can. One thing you might be happy about is that John Lassider (sp?), who used to head Pixar, is now head of creativity at Disney, and he's closed down Disney's CG (since Disney owns Pixar now, there's no reason Disney should attempt to compete with Pixar's CG). Rapunzel will be the last feature CG production of Disney (not counting Pixar, obviously), and Frog Princess will be traditionally animated (though I can't promise there won't be CG elements in it; there were CG elements in "Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast" after all).

I'm glad to hear that you liked it, though. I've been apprehensive of it, but my girlfriend really wants to see it. Now I'm less worried about seeing it.

On a side note, Ratatouille was my favorite movie all year.

Go. I'm relatively certain you'll enjoy it.

As for the CG, I'm glad to hear that's going all the way over to pixar, and I liked Ratatouille. It's just that I'd love to see some good, clean animation come out of Disney again, that doesn't have the obvious CG stuff.

Wait... you work at Disneyland?

Oh... and... straight up animation does seem to have dwindled overall lately hasn't it.

QuoteI don't believe in it anyway.

Just a conspiracy of cartographers, then?
