LHC
I haven't seen a thread about this, considering the strange wackyness it has an extremely small chance of produing. So, how abouts this new fancy LHC? End of days? Never heard of it? Discuss.

If you're playing epic, pause for a moment to laugh at WotC's farcical cosmic entity stats and move on. They aren't there to be taken seriously. Trust me. They aren't even suitable for use as avatars. -WotC Epic Boards, Epic FAQ

Nobody can tell... hell we can't even tell if he actually exists -Nomadic, talking about me.

I saw this on a the History Channel yesterday, I was pretty impressed. Its seems like an awesome idea that can really help advance scientific knowledge.

The Swiss are also building one... Its going to be even bigger than the American one.

Higgs Boson

CERN's is already completed and has been used several times, but no higgs boson particle showed up. And the American one is going to be larger, btw. SOmeone's already been killed in production of it, actually.

Yeah, the Swiss one is MASSIVE. I'm really into all of this heavily physics-related stuff... I'm following this loosely whenever I can to see updates.

According to the History Channel show I watched, the Americans already have one, but its smaller than the Swiss one. We must be developing a newer, bigger one ^_^

EDIT: I just looked the LHC up on Wikipedia, its says the Swiss one won't go active until May 2008. Of course I don't claim to be an expert on any of this, just stating what I heard and saw (so I could be wrong, who knows how old the info I've seen is).
