I was going try to be efficient and post this in the official FAQ thread, but after searching, to my surprise, there wasn't an official FAQ thread. In fact, there weren't any FAQ threads that showed up under the search function.

So, here it is. The official (for now) FAQ thread. If you have suggestions for the CBG FAQ, please post them here. With any luck, hopefully a moderator will decide the suggestions in this thread are at least worth some review.


Now, without any further ado, my suggestions for the FAQ:

First, I suggest updating the list of moderators. As it stands, ElDo is still referred to as one of the moderators-- if I remember correctly (and I might not be), I believe this is something that might need to be edited.

Also, a suggested question: "What is a campaign setting?"

I realize this might be a bit like going to a Godfather FAQ and suggesting to ask who the Corleones are, but it might be a useful question, to clarify to non-world builder precisely what it is we make, and maybe even why we make it (wasn't there a thread awhile ago asking why we make settings?). Building settings-- especially when just for it's own sake-- is still a small niche hobby.

I wonder why that didn't show up in search.... I tried searching in just the forums, then I tried searching on the entire site, and both resulted in nothing.

Anyways, it would seem as if these suggestions don't need to be moved to be noticed, so all's well that ends well :)

but very worth bringing up, as no one has posted on that thread since 06, and as an elder member such as SD1984 did not kinow about.  SO totally useful.

I'm officially an elder member now? That's kinda cool....

I've been working on something else that I haven't posted yet, but it is taking me a while. Maybe I'll drop it and start working on Adveria again.

Wait, if I'm an elder member, wouldn't Poseidon be an Elder God?

By the way, last time I checked, ElDo is still listed as a current moderator. Id I missed something and he took that mantle back up, then hopefully I don't sound too much like an idiot by pointing that out. Well, at least, any more of an idiot then usual ;)

I've done a bit of minor updating, let me know what else I can do.

Nothing that I can think of at the moment, really. I still think it might be a good idea to ask what a "setting" is, but I'm not going to make a huge deal out of it.
