Hail to nastynate! The... nastiest of... nates... Yeah.

Túrin

Yes, a very warm welcome to nastynate, who, I might add, is here by my invitation from the Campaign Workshop at wizards.

"Then shall the last battle be gathered on the fields of Valinor. In that day Tulkas shall strive with Melko, and on his right shall stand Fionwe and on his left Turin Turambar, son of Hurin, Conqueror of Fate; and it shall be the black sword of Turin that deals unto Melko his death and final end; and so shall the Children of Hurin and all men be avenged." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Shaping of Middle-Earth

Indeed I am. He roped me in good yo!

Elven Doritos

Heh. I sorta forgot about this thread. And besides, Kal was getting a bit windy... ;)

-Elven Doritos
Welcome!
Oh, how we danced and we swallowed the night
For it was all ripe for dreaming
Oh, how we danced away all of the lights
We've always been out of our minds

Fie.

You youngsters wouldn't know windy if Aeolus smote with spear reversed the hollow mountain's wall; then rushed the winds through that wide breach in long, embattled line, and swept tumultuous from land to land: with brooding pinions o'er the waters spread, east wind and south, and boisterous Afric gale upturned the sea; vast billows shoreward rolled; the shout of mariners, the creak of cordage, followed the shock; low-hanging clouds concealed from Trojan eyes all sight of heaven and day; night o'er the ocean brooded; from sky to sky the thunders rolled, the ceaseless lightnings glared; and all things meant swift death for mortal man.

Good lord ya lost me! Crazy board riders with their doritoes, and their coconuts, and their smurfs, and their daisy dukes...what's the world comin' to!

He's just our old oligarch or crazed Planescape guy and classics enthusiast, as he likes to put it himself. Don't mind him.

Oh, and Elven Doritos is just our regular "too much time to post nonsense coming from a somewhat disturbed mind" guy. Don't mind him either.

And CYMRO is just our third Triumvirate member, Lockesian idealist and "changer-of-avatar" (which he does about every other day). Don't mind him.

And then we have natural 20, or "crit" as most people call him (which I sometimes correct to the more accurate "critical threat"), who also tends to post more than he has to say. I could say "don't mind him" but that would mean all in all I have asked you to ignore 80% or more of these forums. So perhaps you should mind all those guys. Just don't say I didn't warn you.

I feel honored by my large text block description.  Thank you Turin, for the exposition

Actually there should have been a paragrpah-end between "... than he has to say." and "I could say..." but I'm glad you feel honoured so I won't edit it. ;)

Túrin

PS Oooh, I have more posts than a triumvirate member (ElDo). Aren't I cool?

I keep waiting for the day when Cymro and I have an old-fashioned throw-down about politics.  The Old Oligarch and the Lockesian Idealist can only peaceably cohabit for so long...

Oooh, don't do it when I'm not watching! That would be fun to look at. Can I be the judge or somesuch?

Speaking of politics, did you know we just had elections in the Netherlands this Tuesday?

Absolutely not.  I scarcely follow elections in America.

Who won?

Even now I am marshalling the forces of representative government against you!!

Numinous

In relation to the post count, the triumvirate has largely fallen in that regard, when I usurped ElDo's post count position.  However, to avoid overwhelming pressure to post nonsense, I am trying quite hard to avoid placing value on the numbers.  As long as we are all recognized as prominent individuals in the community we have here, posting constantly should be irrelevant.

Please, give me a week before the throwdown, I need time to sell tickets!

Ah, they were municipal (sp?) elections so officially there is not one winner, but on average the social democrat parties dealt a heavy blow to the christian-democrat party and the liberalist party (with the former being the opposition, and the latter two being the current government, this is generally interpreted as a sign that the national elections next year will have a similar result, in fact, it is speculated that now for the first time a government might be formed of social-democrat parties only, as in the past they always had to rely on coalitions with the other major ideologies to be able to govern).
