It's worth seeing all of them. My favorite is the last crusade though if you really want to do it right you should start from the beginning and work your way into the fourth one... though only watching one and then moving on won't hurt you much.

Hate to be nitpicking, but [spoiler]Inter-dimensional does not mean inter-universal. Two whole different things. Inter-universal is basically exiting the bubble that our universe is and entering into another (possibly through means of wormholes while inter-dimensional is being able to exist in 2d, 3d, etc. However, anything that is native to a higher dimension would be pretty much impossible to perceive in the dimensions we are native to, so they most likely just used that to make them sound fancy. Oh, and IMO, you can never have too many universes.[/spoiler]

Mina Watch Raiders of the Lost Ark It by far the best action movie out of all of them, There nothing better Than Dr Jone putting a whuppin on some nazi's, and since you never seen it, the first is always the best.

I loved it. Loved the aliens, too, they were well in-keeping if you ask me. After all, the first one ended with the Arc of the Covenant being opened and loads of Nazis melting before it's Holiness... aliens are no more far-fetched than that.

I think it's less the believability factor than the fact that in the old films, Indiana Jones was not about extraterrestrials (as we seem to have dispensed with spoilers now). It was about real mythology, more a history-fantasy crossover. This is a history-sci-fi crossover, which just didn't fit with it for me.

I honestly didn't have a problem with it. It is a mix of ancient mythology in regards to the Mayan culture and the modern mythology that has spawned up around these crystal skulls (which in real life are different then in the movies... but it is an alternate universe). So I don't think it deviated all that much. It is still solidly locked in the mythology and archeology that makes it very much an Indiana Jones movie.

Superfluous Crow

Personally, i think it was a bit too over-the-top with the aliens. The worst part by far, though, was the  [spoiler]freakin' UFO[/spoiler] in the end. They could've done without that.
But then again, it was still an enjoyable movie, just not so Indiana Jones-ish as i had hoped.

I thought [spoiler=this.]The aliens could have been handled better. There's a way to do inter-dimensional aliens and there's a way to do inter-dimensional beings worshiped as Mayan gods. The two don't necessarily overlap, especially when you bust out Roswell mummies and UFOs.[/spoiler]
And overall, I'd say the plot would have worked much better as a video game. It relied a bit too heavily on video-game-style exposition to justify its action sequences (all of which were also very video-gamish).

Also, when has any manufacturer ever made a lead-lined refrigerator?

Yes there is. It just wasn't generally used as a household appliance (though could be justified as an item they were testing to see how effective lead lining would be against radiation).

I love that the janitor from scrubs made a cameo as an FBI agent.  It makes me think he leads a double life and makes that show funner to watch as I question his motives in screwing with everyone.

My only gripes:

There was some CGI where I thought it wasn't really needed, especially in the beginning, which annoyed me.

And I really, really find it more satisfying seeing Nazis getting their asses kicked (of course, that's just the time line, but it still detracted from my enjoyment.)

The great thing is that Scrubs has already shown that aspect of him, using his minor role in  The Fugitive (also a Harrison ford flick), and I had just finished watching that episode before I went to go see Indie.

I agree.  Nazis make good villains because they are easy to hate and think of as evil.  Russian Communists are not such good villains.  I agree to a certain extant with the ideals of Socialism, so have mixed fealings about the portrayal of Reds as villains.

I agree to some extent as well with the idea. However I have no qualms seeing the reds as enemies here. Partly from the fact that during the cold war this was just how things were viewed from the American side. The other part is that some of the communist leaders really did commit horrible atrocities (some that dwarf Hitler's holocaust).
