for Steerpikes question: No idea, I haven't read ether of them, but probably Dune (I'm not a big Gibson fan).

Do you have a notebook/pad of paper to write down your ideas? Or do you just let them ferment in your head?

I have several idea notebooks.  I try to seperate them by nature of the project and game system and so one, but it never lasts long because I get ideas rather randomly, so I write it down where I can when the thoughts are flowing.
