Nomadic and I had a cool idea for actually staring a play-by-post Commoner campaign a la Heros_Backpack's Commoner Campaign. I was thinking we could use a 25 Point Buy to generate Stats. As for gold, I'm not sure; maybe say we each get a 2 Gold Pieces to equip our characters? We should restrict ourselves to the SRD for now (since everyone will have access to that) and bridge out as needed. The Setting is not yet chosen but will be either by vote or by the GM. I think 5 Players is reasonable for starter though the DM is free to increase that number of he wishes. If there is enough interest we could have more than 1 group!

I'd like to know what sort of setting this would be played in before deciding interest.

Ok issue #2 is, what setting? Will we go with a published world (Eberron, FR) or a setting on this site? Perhaps leave this up to whom so ever chooses to DM?

I will DM if nobody else is willing. I believe this might be something I can pull off. Though 8 players is a bit much for a PbP. Anyhow if I DM it will probably be a custom setting with 3.5 Core rules (sorry 4e lovers I don't have enough experience with 4e to use that) and a classic fantasy setting. Though we could put it up for a vote. I wouldn't be against a bit of steampunk or other such things.

If 8 is too much we can minimum 4 (since that's how many we have signed up)

I vote 3.5 core rules in a classical setting :)

I'm most interested in what the setting means for tone.  I just don't do "intensely/very serious" well.

Also a "classic" D&D I think might work.

We'll see... depends on if you've been a good boy this year.

Ok looks like I am the only person willing to be the GM. So then I will see about working out a campaign of some sort.
