Slowly standing up, Kieru turns to face the direction of Garak's voice, his displease already evident on what little of his face is visible to the kiag before he even speaks. "There are three things wrong with that, the first and most noticeable being that I have yet to be told of any "impact". Secondly, I cannot see so long as that accursed sun reigns supreme, so any runes in broad daylight will have to wait until dusk. The last and most infuriating, however, is that you are mentioning something about a meal when you haven't fed me in three days, and you won't let me go out of your sight after dusk to find my own food!"[/ic]

Kieru: Garak remains silent for a few moments before breaking out into cold, screechy laughter. You can hear some of the prospectors take a few steps backwards. "Weakling! I offer you food and you complain? I'd have thought your spirit would have broken by now. Since you insist on questioning that which you could learn through waiting, I'll help myself to your lunch. Now come!"

Kianak: "Indeed I do, young one. We may speak inside." As you approach, you realize that the large shape is actually a house, though you can't tell much beyond that.

[ic=Kieru]"It is better to know that which lurks in the dark than to wait for its claws." Kieru loudly mutters before slowly stepping forward, listening for the sound of Garak's footsteps.

He never had food, that much I can be certain. He knows he slipped up, and that is a mistake he will try hard to cover up. But such rashness cannot hide his weakness. One day he will err, and my claws will soak in his blood before his feathers even reach the ground.[/ic]

"Yes, it would be enough. Who are you selling it to? "
Zan walks up to the meteor.

Eats brains here! Ugh!
That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.

[spoiler=Cthulhu]"To obtain a deep, restful, and fulfilling sleep, you must first submerge yourself in your cyclopean city of hideous non-Euclidean geometries beneath the sea, and then let your body die. But don't worry! As long as you continue to emanate enough evil thought-energy to influence and control your many worshippers throughout the untold eons, they will resurrect you when the time comes. I guarantee it!" [/spoiler]

Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive."

(as Stegosaurus) "We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land'."

(T-Rex) "Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh...now die!"

No! penury, inertness and grimace,
In some strange sort, were the land's portion. "See
Or shut your eyes," said Nature peevishly,
"It nothing skills: I cannot help my case:
'Tis the Last Judgment's fire must cure this place,
Calcine its clods and set my prisoners free."

Zan: Natynas walks up and pats the meteorite. "The pokobru were nice enough to split the profits with us if we helped them dig it up. We'll probably break it once it's all clear and ship it down the coast to Minmiko. We haven't found any buyers for the ore there, though. If you want, I can give you a good price for a chunk of the ore, I'll throw in a purrabok head too." At this, the strange twimi begins laughing in her high, squeaky voice.

The aura is not coming from the rock, it's coming from the smooth cliff wall.

Kieru: Following Garak's footsteps, you begin climbing a steep mountain trail. After a few slips and scrapes, accompanied by Garak's laughter, you reach a flat section of packed dirt. You can hear "Lady" Natynas talking with someone up ahead. Garak may have been lying about food, but he certainly wasn't lying about the power of this place. The magical energies ripple out of the mountain, a sure sign of intersecting ley-lines. Spiritcraft check please.

Kianak: The figure moves from the doorway and you walk through the soft snow to the glowing entrance. The smoke from the wooden cabin blows overhead, no longer detectable in the air. Stepping through the threshold, a blast of warmth from a roaring fire hits you in the chest while the scent of cooking meats and strange spices fills your lungs. You stand in a simple room with smooth, wooden floorboards. Candles flicker from around the room and a large, stone fireplace sits against the far wall. A dim hallway leads off to the right, and a quaint kitchen makes up most of the left side of the room. A crude table with a few stools rests in the center of the room and a stone cauldron sits above the fire. To your immediate right are a few coat hooks with a pair of tall, wooden sandals beneath them. Lighting a candle on the table, you can see the figure who beckoned you. A soft green robe is wrapped around the wrinkled body of some kind of a person whom you've never seen the like. Similar to a reptile-man of the south, the person has a male frame but has a face that seems feminine. Wrinkled dark blue skin covers its body instead of scales, and bright yellow swirls of color run up its neck, over its bald head and finally spiral over its cheeks like an intricate, garish mask. The mysterious figure looks at you from under large, heavy eyelids. "I'm glad you came. After you take off your coat, you can have a seat. We have much to discuss. My name is Puluv, do not be afraid."

Shaili: Roll call. Are you there?

[ic=Kieru]Curse that buzzard. I can't even focus with his screeches echoing through my head. I must focus, I must calm myself...

Tilting his head low to the ground, Kieru's breathing slows as he taps into his deeper senses, calming his body and mind while he tries to attune himself with the spirit world...[/ic]

Kieru: Walking up to you and snatching his furs from your hands Garak interupts with "Snap out of it, you need to see the wall. And don't complain about the sun either, I'll give you some shade."

Senkennomei

[ic=Kieru]"One moment." Kieru patiently replies, "I am still gaining my bearings. Just allow me a few moments of silence to get myself in-tune with my surroundings. Then you can show me as many runes as you like."[/ic]

The shaman looks at the smal twimi with slight discuss in his eyes. He passes the meteor going for the wall saying, "Well, how much for a chunk of the ore?" Zan runs his hands, just barely touching, over the cliff wall.
Spiritcraft:[dice]1d20+6[/dice]
Waiting for the twimi to catch up, motion at the cliff face, he asks "Have the prospectors mapped what is behind this rock?"

Just so yuh know, I haven't had clariification on the whole Shaman vs. Witchdoc yet.

BTW, as of Saturday and Sunday, I'll be at Prairiecon, our city's gamefest. I'll be there, all day, both days.

[ic=Kianak] Kianak takes in the room and the figure at the table. After a few moments he realizes the figure has spoken to him. He places his coat on ine of the hooks. He shakes a little ruffling up his feathers. Before sitting he smooths them out again. What is it that you would need to talk to me about?[/ic]

Kieru: Garak laughs and walks away. You may retry.

Zan: Natynas jumps a bit at seeing the Kiag return and then responds "I'll trade that salt back for twice as much ore."
You feel the magic aura grow stronger as you run your hand along the smooth, rock wall. As you ask the question, a shadow looms up behind you. "No, they haven't." You turn and see the kiag looking up at you with his hard, yellow eyes. "Stand aside, pacifist."

[ooc]Have fun at the con!

Damn, what does he know? Zan backed away and looked at the wall intently, seeing what the Kiag was doing in both worlds.

[ic=Shaili]Shaili moves further down the tunnel. The foolish spiders can keep their prize... for now. If they won't let her take it back when she needs it, she'll just kill them all.[/ic]
