Been hearing complaints in other places that resource management is a bitch when you're drunk. So they wanna simplify things and make it so that you don't have too many resources to keep track of, and all your moves are available. Then they argued that the games are set up now, peeps will just spam their biggest attack, if that's the case. Blah, blah, blah, my train of though went into turbo at that point, and can't remember how I got here:

So here's an idea for a system: You have multiple move sets. When combat starts, you roll a dN for each move set you have. The result represents the move level you can perform in each move set, and you keep the die from the roll as a counter. Every time you use a move from a move set, you have the counter lower by 1, unless you use the bottom level move, which gives you a re-roll for the move set in addition to whatever combat effect it has.

Example: Nuhwig the Necromancer has four move sets. Red Fire Magic, Blue Water Marital-arts, Green Earth Shields and Black Magic Rituals.
When combat starts, he rolls four d6s (red, blue, green, black) to determine what moves he has available.

Red Fire Magic
1: Fire Bolt
2: Fire Breath
3: Fire Barrier
3: Fire Ball
5: Fire Blast
6: Ignite

Blue Water Martial-arts
1: Splash Palm
2: Rain Fist
3: Wave Kick
4: Fountain Blast
5: Tsunami Crash
6: Hurricane Surf

Green Earth Shields
1: Mud Slap
2: Marble Abs
3: Granite Skin
4: Rock Bubble
5: Stone Wall
6: Avalanche Roll

Black Magic Rituals
1: Summon Skeleton
2: Vampire's Kiss
3: Fear Aura
4: Sap Wave
5: Drain Field
6: Gorgon Stare

I think this is a cool idea, however I can see it being frustrating when you keep rolling Sap Wave when you want a Fear Aura :p (as an example)

Well, you'd be allowed to use lower level moves than your roll so that you could always have plenty of options available.
Let's say Nuhwig rolls four 3s. He could thrown down a Fear Aura to debuff, then spam Skeletons till he could Gorgon Stare. Or keep using Water- and Earth-Fu till he dropped.

Hmmm, got a character design idea: There are three types of move sets: Melee, Ranged, Defence, and they create an RPS system. Ranged beets Melee, Melee beats Defence, Defence beats Ranged.
Then we use Five Elements: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and Void to generate some sort of effects and counters system.

Fire is super effective against Void and Wind, but weak against Water and Void.
Earth is super effective against Wind and Water, but is weak against Void and Wind.
Void is super effective against Earth and Fire, but is weak against Wind and Fire.
Water is super effective against Fire and itself, and is weak against Earth as well as itself.
Wind is super effective against Earth and Void, but weak against Earth and Fire.

Now we have fifteen move sets!
