Reaching out

So, I have decided it would probably be a good idea for me to get some help wrapping up parts of my campaign, because it's very large and I'm only one man.

I would like to see if anyone could help me do the following:
*Compile setting info, in particular town and village info.
*Compile Feats from several sources (I have PHB1 done, but I need CA, CW, and PHB2 in text for easy editing).
*Edit my writing (If I wrote it, how do I realize it's poorly written?).

I can provide all I've got done so far, and I can easily provide you with the templates I'm using to make it appear more in line with my already done stuff.

RSVP here or shoot me a PM.  Been working on this for months now and I'd like to be able to start playing before my players die of old age :p

This is my first attempt at a large and remotely detailed setting, and while I'm currently gearing it towards having a plot, I plan to, upon release, separate the abstract portions into a different set of files and release it for less specific campaigns in the same setting.  I also plan to host a summer contest for those looking to design more worlds, to handle different nations outside of Væl, and the cultures to be found within them.

Not to be overly negative, but most people here probably have way too much stuff with their own settings that they need to straighten out-- requests like this typically don't get much of a response.

Not to be completely negative, though, here are some things that might help you out:

You can probably grab a list of feats that someone has already compiled online somewhere; adapting it to your setting would likely be easier than trying to dig it all out of the books.

As for editing, if your work is on the wiki, then people can incrementally edit it a little bit at a time rather than someone having to commit to a big project.

Yea, what sparkle said. While I am not one for charging people something like this I wouldn't do unless I was getting paid for it. It's alot of work and I otherwise would get nothing out of it.

Cheomesh

Well, I have someone IRL giving me a hand with it; thought I'd ask this on the places I normally post at.

It's something I've thought about before, too, but I think the best people to ask would be people who already have a direct connection or vested interest in some way to your campaign.  Maybe someone who has reviewed it extensively, already knows a good bit about it, and really likes it would be someone much more likely to be interested in (and capable of) helping out than just random people.

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

[blockquote=Cheomesh]Been working on this for months now and I'd like to be able to start playing before my players die of old age[/blockquote]In my experience it's quite possible to play enjoyably in an "incomplete" world to which you add and flesh out as you go - and by the sounds of it, you already have a lot of information.

Vreeg would probably agree with me on this.  His main setting, Celtrica, is the perfect example of a super-rich setting that has grown organically over years (in fact decades) of play.  If your players run into something/somewhere you didn't anticipate and thus haven't detailed yet, just improvise and work your improvisations into the world later...

Cheomesh

I think that's what I'll probably do.  Unfortunately, the one other guy who DM's around here decided to join my campaign.  Funny thing is, I'd been giving him access to "DM level" info for a while...he's also tested it.

So either I need to get better and saying no or his character needs to disappear at key points :P

Oh, a few little changes will make him doubt everything.  Add in a plague, make a key enemy he knows about the new patron of the PC's, change a religion...
