Quote from: FREAKIN' AWESOME HORSEAs for the badge, would a black, tattered flag with a royal purple moth symbol on it be possible? I've got other ideas if that's a lot of work. It wouldn't need any actual words on it.
What I meant was that the text effect was pretty easy, and I can try others. Any graphic has to be something I can google and import. I can't draw something from scratch.

Quoteif it's not too much, do you think you could try just the word ARGA in Ironworks font - URL -, maybe a rusty color on a black background?
Well, consultant on top of Broken Verge. So it becomes more of a square.
And i was thinking more of the same color the globes in the background of the consultant badge. so the two pictures mesh better.[/quote]
So you do mean one big gif instead of two gifs side by side. Yeah, I can do that tomorrow.
(The globes are the CBG rank globes. They're not affected by the color shift because they're actually the highest layer, but the layer mode makes it look like they're behind the text. Not that you probably care about that.) I can extract the globe color and try to shift the colors towards it, though I don't know if I can match it 100% because I don't think the shift mode allows me to enter a hex code the way normal drawing does.

I could also just make a badge that says "Broken Verge Consultant" (in two lines) without making it bigger, to keep it unobtrusive.

FREAKIN' AWESOME HORSE

I've got the pieces that can be used for mine. I'll upload 'em later.

Matt Larkin (author)

Because uploading multiple versions of the same image causes problems here, I'm hosting everything at Photobucket for now. Here's all the works in progress:

(some need to be resized back to the proper size)

This is the basic consultant badge.

This is the Eschaton consultant badge. I used the same atomic text effect as the basic badge, with the cracked hourglass logo behind. Somehow the atomic wind effect got smudged.

This is Ironworks on a plain black background. I think it's a "rusty" color. Though texture might enhance the effect.

This is the original sword image for Arga. I beveled the text on the sword.

This is the attempt to create a single Broken Verge badge. I thought the BV text might look better beveled than the atomic effect I had been using. Needs to be shrunk once it's acceptable. Actually, I don't like the way the atomic meshes with this.

Superfluous Crow

A bit hard to read "Consultant" but otherwise a perfectly awesome badge :O
too bad Leetz gets to wear it and not me...
If you have time for it i could probably use the lower part of the badge for the wiki if enlarged ^^

Okay, we'll do PMs after all.  I have Phoenix and Awesome Hazard, PM me with your list of preferred projects to consult on, and I'll get you set up.

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

you can just stack the original consultant badge on top to keep the original look, too:

Leetz, this is the same plain badge, resized to 200px, with a little styling added. Let me know what you think.

Edit: If it's too dark, I can add inner lighting like with the BV badge.

Snargash Moonclaw

I'd like to add Panisadore to the list - after a long dry spell I'm starting to look toward further development. Changing to GURPS (from D&D) necessitates more krunch than I'd been doing in the past (GURPS krunch explicitly requires customization to campaign/setting) but flavor will still drive development. Setting is fantasy reflecting a sort of "High Middle Ages" to Renaissance feel with some distinctly Asian influences and a definite global awareness and thought among its major movers and shakers. Magic and religion have been strong influences on cultural and technological development and manifest in a variety of (frequently intertwined) forms. Races and their cultures attempt to take "standard" fantasy tropes and give them a distinctly new twist - to be both easy to recognize and get a handle on while at the same time presenting unique expressions of the basic ideas. As for other settings, I'm open to consult on any outside of system krunch.
In accordance with Prophecy. . .

I read banned minds.

O Senhor Leetz

maybe larger text, a bit lighter color text (almost like the color of the Broken Verge dust). Maybe storm cloud background? But other than that, it looks sweet dude.
Let's go teach these monkeys about evolution.

Okay, I'll put up a new one tomorrow. I should be able to google a storm cloud background.

O Senhor Leetz

actually, now that I look at it again, maybe just a simple black background with a larger, brighter, more prominent ARGA?

I added Panisadore. If you have a link you want added, let me know.

Ishy's mainly working with PMs, so you might want to send him a list, SM.

@Leetz: okay. The base color is actually almost the same as the one in BV. But I added noise to make it "rusty," beveled it for contrast, and added shadows. Larger text with an outer glow may achieve the effect you want.
