So taking a break from other projects, as I tend to do, has me skimming through old Pinnacle files. I decided to expand on the dream realm a bit. The original thread can be found  here.

Map of the Dream Realm, and various vestiges including the Realm of Madness and Delirium(to come)

The Inevitables are spread across various realms of sub-reality, the most important being The City of Pinnacle. How one travels to these various realms is not (entirely) understood, but the smaller realms known as Fibbles and Roils are probably the most likely and least dangerous mode of travel. These Fibbles and Roils are (respectively) the realms of individual Lies and Memories. They are smaller than the Greater Realms, but relatively easier to traverse. One can directly travel from Greater Realm to Greater Realm (pinnacle, madness, delirium) but should note that their presence will be known immediately by the Inevitables of the Realm in question. That is why many travelors risk going through the various Fibbles and Roils to reach destinations undetected.

If a man caught in a lie were to suppose that he were the only clever person to ever think of such a lie, than he is indeed in for a surprise.

Likewise, a great dream should not be shared by an individual. That would be selfish, and preposterous.

Perhaps this is why memories slip away so quickly? Their are only so many memories and dreams in all the realms, and for this reason they must slip away, lest man become bored and confused at having the same dreams forever, and remembering the same memory.

Madness & Delirium Greater Realms

The Rat Queen, who chews on the souls of those caught in madness and the Frog King who licks the senses of the Delirious into oblivion. Scholars suggest that these two Inevitables, much like the Ruler of Pinnacle once was, were actual mortals. Having delved into their respective fields (whatever that may have been) they were caught up in the great sea of sub-conscious and swept off into the Realms. Being the first to be awakened and lucid in these Realms for an indeterminable amount of time, they set about molding the sub-realms to their liking.

The Rat Queen thrives on madness. Her court consists of things that would instantly madden a visitor who had not prepared themselves properly. Her ally, the Frog King is equally mad, but in a more low-key way. Everything in his kingdom speaks of delirium, and it is not uncommon for a traveler to lose his way and never return.

Delirium is an absurd place, the inhabitants of which are often glee-filled until the point of derisiveness. Humans dwell here often, and on more than one occasion the tendrils of Delirium have slipped into the minds of writers and artists living in the reality world.
The fields of wanting

are a particularly popular spot in Delirium. Fancies float through the air, and at the feet of the wanter, the singing grass coos and hums. The mad cap hunting club was formed shortly after so and so started the such and such around the time the thing-a-muh-jig happened.
Lies and Memories.

Clearly marked, upon a map that once existed, cleverly categorized and then thrown into an incinerator. Lies and memories are interconnected. Memory realms are eerie, shrouded in mists that materialize gruesome things. The creatures their are often incorporeal, and prone to fits of rage. Lies are shadowy places, with great stretches of land between each landmark, a mountain may appear alone in an ocean, or a desert, inexplicably in the jungle. The terrain of both Fibbles and Roils is greatly diverse. Small villages are common, though they disappear as often as the realms themselves.

These sub-realities are widely misunderstood, and if one were to traverse across one, the next day they might find it in a completely different disposition, or not their at all.  So a traveler must carefully weigh the consequences of traveling through a sub-realm that might blink out of existence at any moment, and the thought that an Inevitable would know exactly where you are once you enter their realm.

Creatures
Creatures

Incorrigable Negators-Extinct after the reign of incorrigible negligence. They were agents of the great one, who sought to destroy the Greater Realms. Obviously they failed.[note=Negators]It is my intention to use the negators as a similitude for real world psychologists attempting to shake dreamers out of whatever hysteria plagues them. Prescriptions tend to be a particularly nasty form of negator. It would be fair to say that the negators are probably coming from the minds of one of the inevitables. Perhaps Edict is stuck in a mental asylum somewhere, slipping in and out of the dream/real world.[/note]

Tympani (tympanum?) Drum creature. They collect sounds and store them in clearly marked labels. They are clockwork like the Architects. Most were decommissioned after the reign of incorrigible negligence. Each Tympani has a specific key that starts it's clockwork mechanism. Most of these were hidden by agents of the Incouragable Negators. This was a dark time, even as far as Greater Realms are concerned. The Tympani are altogether lighthearted folk that enjoy music. They contrast sharply with their dark surroundings. Nobody is quite sure who thought them up, although it is postulated that whoever did is probably long gone from the Greater Realms, or dead.

Obelisk Minotaur------(WIP)------>With all the reconstruction going on in Pinnacle by the Architects, the city grew contemptuous. The minotaurs are arch-enemies of the Architects. The Architects are many, the minotaurs are few, but very powerful.

Clockwork Architect------(WIP)------>found only in Pinnacle. Builders of the city. Also a variation, the 'emancipated' architects who have cast off the shackles of Edicts commands.

Paper Dragon-----(WIP)-->Mythological? creature. Breathe fire consuming themselves in the process. Deeply philosophical creatures. They are usually stoic, reserved and seemingly wise. Why seemingly? Wise would infer that one has some knowledge or aptitude to have the foresight necessary for great things, that is really not possible in this world.

Underblood------(yup, WIP)---->One of the most feared creatures of Pinnacle. Clad in iron they stalk the city using feral senses to find those without stone.

Denizen------(WIP)-----> Cannon fodder of the world. These are vaguely human, varying degrees of personal afflictions. Emotionless at times and rather heated at others. They all crave stone voraciously.

Tickers----->The punished. Doomed person. Blinded and grafted with an enormous clock that ticks loudly. When the timer runs out, they die. Edicts experiment to actually kill someone/prolong life in Pinnacle. Tickers are driven to a profound level of madness, even for the dream. Found only in the city.

Maggotmen-----(WIP)--------->Creatures from Madness.(considering merging these with hollow-men)

Sunshine Man------(WIP)------>Found anywhere in the Greater Realms. Somehow tied to Fibbles.

Plyushkins-- Original bit here ->Found only in Pinnacle. Compulsive Hoarders

Hollow Men-----Probably will be taken out. Don't really like them all that much. They just seem like zombies rather than a unique creature.
