So-Keher

This is a map for a setting of mine that I had forgottern about but is now being awoken from the ashes. It will be enormous if finished, far more vast than Astraea.

Here goes:

My Setting:
Tiabela - Linky!

So-Keher

The Continent of Galatea (North)

That looks awesome, already. You did a great job on this map, and it strikes me as being very evocative. Names for some of these places just spring out at me. I'm guessing your world will focus mainly on the two main continents in the center of the map and the islands between them?

EDIT: Now that you've posted two new maps, I can tell which continents you are focusing on. I can't wait to hear more about this setting. :D

So-Keher

The Continent of Galetea (South)

My Setting:
Tiabela - Linky!

So-Keher

Yes, but I am also focusing on the smaller "Great Britain-looking continent on the left" named Galetea. It is shown in two halves but they actually fit together. Sovarge is the landmass equivilant to the north pole and Ibarea is equivilant to the south pole (the little sections on the bottom).

EDIT: ignore the great-britain bit, cuz the maps already show that

I have not come up with names for the other continents yet but heres for the nations depicted in the previous maps:

Tirnis â,¬' a halfling realm built upon the scarred lands of a long-gone culture
Zaelnar â,¬' the mountainous and forested gnome land unscarred by the histories of old.
Euphatur â,¬' a mid-land region of untamed wilderness and frontier settlements. Great for adventures.
Etharnul â,¬' a dwarven nation deep in a forested mountain region
Pardeus â,¬' a noble empire. Classic European style, feudal, etc.

I kept these in mind while designing the map. There will (hopefully) be over 20 regions whn i am finished but that may be a while.

Evalnys â,¬' an elven forest nation, like lothlorien

I don't know if anyone has told you this already, So-Keher, but you are one of the best map-makers I've seen (The only one I've seen too... Haha, no! I'm kidding!). Really, I like very much the way you draw maps and how you fill them (And color them, as I saw in a different post). Keep up the great work!

So-Keher

Wow thanks hellraiser!

The next maps will be Southern Escion (the largest continent (middle-left)).

Actually i need some help with nation ideas. Just stuff like "an elven nation of great magic", a quick description of the area. I have over a dozen left to go so if anyone has any interesting ideas let me know. I would especially like stuff for the middle-right continent (the one with the shattered river system). Any help appreciated.

EDIT: I am debating whether to put them in color but i think i will just stick with a soft, colored "halo" around nation borders for contrast.
EDIT: If anyone desperately needs a cartographer i would be glad to help when I can. PM me and i'll see what i can do.

These maps are the beginning of a new campaign setting (duh  8| ) that will be posted on the homebrews as soon as it is near completion (meaning in a long time)

It will be titled the Fænaëd  Chronicles (most likely)and will be ENORMOUS
if anyone is interested in helpin g, PMs are cool  :)

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

Raelifin

Shouldn't the winding woodlands be more like a winding jungle, seeing as how they are smack dab on the equator?

thanks. to do this one is did a rough outline and then went back over thickerand made it as fragmented and un-smooth as possible to a point). that probably doesn't help but thats how i did it  :P

well, it is a jungle, but...not hehe
good point
i can't fix it so i guess it will be a jungle called woods  :wtf:

So-Keher, I'm going to steal your map-drawing methods; I hope you take it for the compliment that it is :)

Ninja D!

I also plan to steal your methods...I only hope mine turn out have as nice as yours.  I am very impressed.

So-Keher

No problem, I'm glad I could be an inspiration.

If you need any help i got a lot of my idea from The FOrgotten Realms, Eberron and Tolkien, but I always add twists of my own as I see fit.

If you need any advice or whatever (I'm not used to this at all) I'm (almost) always available. And make sure to let me see your work, I love seeing what other people's worlds look like!  :P

Thanks a lot,
So-Keher
