Yup, just something I wrote like a month ago, maybe less. I had a sudden inspiration for a cosmos-wide happening and this came to my mind. It's a primer story, on which I never followed. Feel free to use it.

QuoteAt first, the void was all that existed. An infinite vortex of complex energies, it swirled ferociously for an eternity. At some point, the energies dancing together ached to escape their maelstrom prison and they quickly grew impatient. Finally, a gathering of elements broke out of the vortex, creating the universe.

Its then that time, natural and cosmic elements were born. Though, the void, center of the universe, still stood strong and kept exercising its gravitational pull on the new cosmic creations. Every now and then, the void would pull cosmic matter into its vortex, but also release cosmic elements like it happened before. A never-ending circle of creation that will shape cosmos history.

Born of chaos, the creations of the void were not all meant to be equals, be it in power, size or beauty. As an example, if one looks at the chaotic infants of the void from the center of the universe, this person will see billions of stars. Some bigger, some smaller'¦ some closer, some farther'¦ some shining brightly in the infinite cosmic sky and some camouflaged by darkness and larger bodies.

The ultimate creation of chaos would be its exact opposite, order. It came with time to battle the uncertainty and spontaneity of the void and its cosmic offspring. Order constantly fights the gravitational pull of the void, which threatens to absorb the cosmos whole.

The universe, just like the energies that helped its creation, is complex. It is separated by galaxies, which are made of cosmic bodies and concepts. The one galaxy in which the story/setting takes place is far from the void and the vortex pull is hardly felt. In its center, there is a bright sun. A star of fiery energy that rages eternally and blesses its orbiting stars with warmth and light. It is unknown how many stars orbit around the mass of flames, but one became particularly interesting at some point.

A few supernatural entities discovered, in that galaxy, a star on which it felt good to live and wander. Its varied terrain and climatic events enchanted them, but it was the living beings, a rare sight indeed in this universe, that intrigued them the most. They became obsessed with the humans. Enterprising, ambitious, intelligent, but yet so weak'¦ some of the entities descended upon the human world to teach, unite or wage war. The concept of divinity, religion and belief came into play and would shape the small world of mankind in years to come.

Chaos appeared before humankind as a tall winged and horned humanoid and summoned hordes of cruel creatures to sow distress and fear. As the situation aggravated, Chronus, embodiment of order and time, appeared with his titanic brothers and sisters, Suon and Gaya and fought Chaos for hundreds of years. In the end, they opened a crevasse to the core of the star and imprisoned the void's avatar in the magmatic center of this paradise planet. They branded him a demon and created hell, which would be the demons prison forever. Worshipped by those who witnessed their incredible prowess, they became known as the Titans and were respected like no human had ever been.

But with great power comes great responsibility. And by abusing the humans respect and trust, the titans infuriated some of them. The twist is that the feeling of hate, terror and vengeance feeds Satanus, the chaotic entity which was imprisoned by the titans. Each time humans felt anger or fear, Satanus gained more power.

Eventually, with the titans being distracted and unwary, Satanus reopened the crevasse, sending forth armies of cruel monsters to terrorize men even more. It became too difficult for the titans to control Satanus and his minions for he had become too powerful. Ashamed and under the pressure of their worshippers, some of the titans left their earthly bodies to regain the vast cosmos and left the humans alone to fight the ensuing battle.

The humans were afraid and desperate, which served to increase Satanus power. Because of this, he quickly became ruler of the world. After some time, the planet had undergone some changes. Jungles were razed and made into wastelands, while drowned islands resurfaced in all their glory. Needless to say, this period of time shaped the start of a new era.

The titans had made their decision and did not wish to return to their mortal shells, but they had foreseen such an event. It's for this reason that they secretly planted offspring, half men half titan, in the world. These being would, one day, discover the vast godly powers they possess and protect mankind from Satanus.

As predicted, the time came where Phoenix, along with his divine companions, battled Satanus. The battle was quick as the unique powers the half gods had been blessed with were immensely powerful. They first pushed the demon lord in his prison and eventually sealed the gate which leads in the deepest pits of hell.

Celebration ensued and new divinities prospered, gathering human worshippers like the titans had done in the past. But these beings, called the gods, were much more attuned to mankind than their predecessors. The humans respected them more and in return, the gods protected them better.

It's true that Satanus was greatly weakened in the last battle against the gods, but being what he is, he still had great power. Harboring a renewed and incredible hate towards all living things and the 'Surfacekind', he was able to harness enough power to cause the Cataclysm.

A huge tremor shook the entire world. Crumbling mountains, erupting volcanoes, gargantuan tidal waves, lands entirely flooded and others resurfacing. The geographic aspect of the star changed and it greatly affected mankind in many ways.

After the event, none knew it was Satanus doing, not even the gods. Men, in desperate need of answers refused to worship their new gods that didn't seem to know what was going on. Slowly, the deities powers declined allowing the lord of hell to return on the surface.
