Last night my friends and I were playing an old role-playing game from the eighties called Advanced Fighting Fantasy.  Currently our party is in an airship flying over the Icefinger Mountains.  However we were hit by a squall and in the ensuing near-catastrophe one of the PCs bit the Big One.  Salty Jack had been the Minor Inconveniance of the Seven Seas.  That was until he got permanently turned into a monkey.  As our airship nearly flipped over poor old monkey Jack was crushed by a falling treasure chest.

After divvying out Jack's gold, my dwarf and Gau the Man-Orc insisted he be buried at sea....even though we were still high over the mountains.  We put his little furry corpse on a board and wrapped him in his skull and crossbones.  Then Gau gave the eulogy.
"Well mate, you were kind of my friend though I hated you.  You were a lousy pirate, Jack, but you were a first rate pet, shipmate (chokes).  See you on the old dusty trail."

We tipped Jack over the side.  The board hit the snow and slid off down the mountain - body, flag and all - and into legend.

SA

Hit the snow and slid down the mountain... into legend.

Now that's a funeral fit for a monkey-pirate!

That was wonderful.

*sniff* I think I have something in my eye.

Eh, we should have a whole squad of them.  Maybe you should make a setting with undead ninja monkey pirates as the main villains.  Or heroes.  Or both.
