[note]It has been a long time since I have worked on a campaign so for now my creative juices are just beginning to flow again. Sorry if it takes a long time to update this. I will keep the sections separate for clarity.[/note]

   Thousands of years ago, there existed only Cyyn, the great father of the world. He alone was the universe, and around him there was only emptiness. After a time, Cyyn began to [desire a substance in the world, color and shape to fill in the eternal gray that surrounded him. He created minor deities, dividing his powers and separating his being into three parts, the Trianad. Each of his â,¬Å"childrenâ,¬Â represented a separate domain of his being. Together, they formed the world: Nàesa.

Cæyle, Goddess of Light, controls the Enlightened Realms or the heavens of Nàesa. She is embodied physically by the twin suns that circle each other across the sky. Her symbol is a silver sun.

Nuadde, God of Forge, created the great mountains and valleys of Nàesa. He wields a mighty hammer, and his blows shape the earth effortlessly. His symbol is a hammer striking the side of a mountain.

Lastly is the God of the Seas Mureguan. Mureguan makes his abodes beneath the waves of the Llyran Sea. Some say he can be seen o dark nights riding the waves near the shore on a great leviathan.

   After combining their talents and forming the beginnings of the Nàesa, the Trianad retired to their own spheres of influence and focused on refining the fledgling world. Nuadde created all the creatures and plants that inhabited the land while Mureguan created the fish of the sea. Cæyle gave them an â,¬Å"inner lightâ,¬Â so that they lived.

As beautiful as Nàesa was, Cæyle felt that they needed to create an image of themselves to fill the last gap in the world. Discussing the matter with their father, Cæyle and Nuadde entered communion to create a new race from themselves. They called them the Aielle, or the elves. From that point forward, the Aielle, rather than the Trianad, would become the force to shape the Nàesa.

[ic=Physical Description]
The Aielle are the most prominent race in Kaediel, if not in population than in military and cultural dominance. They stand tall, around 5'8 on average. They have long slender ears that sweep outward from their platinum blonde or silver hair. The rare Aielle has had chestnut red hair. They have bright blue, green or gold eyes and fair skin. Physically they are slender but strong and very dextrous and quick on their feet.
Hundreds of years passed, and the Aielle grew and prospered, building great cities of white stone within the forests and mountains of central Nàesa. All the while, Cæyle stayed with her children, teaching them everything she knew. Eventually, as they matured, she taught them to use the Inner Light, or the essence, to alter the world around them and to summon creatures from the other planes.

[note]The other planes (besides the Heavenly Fields of Eternum and the Materia) had already existed as manifestations of other great deities similar to Cyyn. The other deities and their planes will be explained in detail later. [/note]

Supplemented by magic, the elven civilization, Kaediel, grew to fantastic heights to rival the achievements of the gods themselves.

Another century passes, and the Firstborn are beginning to age and it has been long since the gods had left the world to its own design. It nears the time where the Firstborn will have to pass control of Kaediel to their sons and daughters. The current emperor, Eladahd, had three children, two sons and a daughter. Aillen as his eldest son, was in direct line to the throne, but the second son, Oillagh, was jealous and plotted secretly to steal the position from his brother. A few years passed and Eladahd grew ever more feeble and eventually could not rise from his bed. Seeing the time was near, Oillagh went to his father and asked him to reconsider, claiming he was more adept than his brother and would make Kaediel ever more glorious than it was in the past. Eladahd refused again, and Oillagh murdered him in his bed and claimed by blood he was the new emperor of Kaediel. The Elder Council, a wise and seemingly immortal group of councilors, resisted his rise to power, but eventually succumbed (if not inwardly) to his malice. Oillagh turned next to his sister , the third sibling.

   Aillen was away fighting the barbaric hordes to the east when Oillagh's violent coup took place. Alone in his tent, a solitary figure entered and asked him his who he was. Shocked that the man could be so ignorant, Aillen hesitated and then told him he was Prince Aillen of Kaediel. With this confirmed, the man drew a strange weapon, shot Aillen and left.

   With all but is sister Faelwel dead, Oillagh set off for her next. Arriving at here palace home a short ways from the city, he found it deserted. Faelwel had fled into the Whispering Woods, a place that before no man had dared enter. Believing his sister as good as dead in the forest, Oillagh set about solidifying his rule and rebuilding the Kaedian Empire for his own.

Kaediel exists peacefully inside, while outside, the constant warfare designed by Oillagh broils and inflames the â,¬Å"barbaricâ,¬Â country surrounding Kaediel. Despite the constant warfare, not much else disturbs the citizens of the empire. The coup for them did not change anything of importance and their daily lives continue as normal. A new generation of the Aielle has been born and are reaching the age of maturity for their race. Many of them turn away from the old world of art and culture and find home adventuring in the wilderness or working as sailors, merchants or craftsmen. A new age of exploration is dawning on Kaediel, and none know what the future might spell for the empire.

As Cæyle created the Aielle as a manifestation of herself, the god Nuadde did the same. Jealous of his sister's success, he created children of his own from his own rib, moss and the soft clay of a river bank. He called his children Fomorian â,¬' Children of the Earth â,¬' and they prospered in the Wudfern Forest and the Shale Hills, areas surrounding the eventual Kaedian Empire.
   Unlike the Aielle, the Fomorian have a very short lifespan, hardly ever reaching seventy years, but they were inventive and easily adaptable, which allowed them to develop quickly into a civilized order of tribes. However, their close proximity with the elves brought clashes of culture that spelled doom for the majority of tribes. As much as they resisted, the elves just rolled over their defenses due to their advanced technology (gunpowder weapons and steel)  and military prowess. Many of the tribes, instead of resisting, willingly assimilated into Kaedian culture, and the residents of the tribes are usually given tracts of land to develop under the supervision of the Elder Council. Some Fomorian even became prominent members in elven society.

Religion: The Fomorian Trianad

   The Fomorian worship a different pantheon than the Aielle, although in principle it shares many similarities. Their pantheon also consists of three deities, one of the heavens, one of the earth and one of the sea. Their deities are strange and monstrous in more ways than none, and seem barbaric and uncivilized the the Aielle.
   Their first is Eleath, Goddess of the Sea. She appears as a hauntingly beautiful woman â,¬'  completely in the nude â,¬' with flowing blond hair and eyes as green as the sea. Her skin is pale but covered in scales so fine they are almost invisible and she sports a colorful tail and fin in place of legs. Some say that she is the last of the mermaids, but others say the mermaids grew from scales that came loose and fell to the ocean floor.
   Unanv is their Solar God, a monstrosity with one eye, one arm, one leg and a huge horn growing out of his head. Fomorian believe the sun is his eye, and that the perpetual sliver moon is his horn.
   Magelthe is the Earthen God, who is a direct representation of the deity Nuadde in the Kaedian pantheon. However, the image of Magelthe in the Fomorian pantheon is a titan standing over twenty feet tall with the head of a black goat.

[ic=Physical Description]
Fomorian stand about 5'6 on average, around the same height or slightly shorter than the Aeille. They are slightly stockier and tend to be more heavily muscled and more clumsy, at least in the elves' opinion. They have dark olive skin, brown or green (sometimes blue) eyes and dark brown or black hair. [/ic]
