A Thought....

Okay, so for the third time now, I've tried to write a setting, run out of steam and then lost myself in a kind of embarrassed silence for quite a while.

This time, though, I think I've come to some kind of realisation.

I think I'm good at the kind of "superficial" stuff of settings (like narrative-style fluff and so on) and at brainstorming basic ideas, but as soon as I reach the point where I need to give the setting real "guts", stuff like crunch and detailed OOC fluff, I bottle out.

So, I think I need a collaberation. Having another person involved would not only spur me on more than I would by myself, but they could also take the burden of writing the setting's "guts" away from me, at least partially.

I'd be pretty much happy doing a setting in any genre, as long as it had interesting and vibrant ideas in it. So, would anyone care to collaberate?

I've actually been thinking along the same lines.  I still update Shadowfell occasionally, but would be very interested in collaborating on something that actually progressed somewhere.

As a collaborator, I could really only offer you ideas on big, cosmic shiz... I fall flat in the day-to day... with the exception of wild player options (which I was forced to learn from my PCs' ardent desire for "robot cowboys" or "midget ninjas" or "elephant man")...
