A Turtle's Way of Giving Gifts

I only give books as gifts.  They are the only thing I buy for friends and family anymore (other than pieces of silver for my mother).

If it's
something I like,

something I think other people will like,

something that makes a strong statement,

something that promotes an ideal,

something that speaks a truth,

something that uncovers a fallacy,

something that rewards the reader,

something that punishes the non-reader,

something that speaks for those who cannot speak,

something that speaks for those who will not speak,

something that speaks for those who know not how to speak,

something that speaks in tongues,

something that teaches a lesson,

something that destroys false beliefs,

something that teaches us about dichotomies and then teaches why dichotomical teachings are wrong,

something that allows an unheard voice to be heard,

something that allows an overheard voice to be quenched,

something that shows us a new picture,

something that shows us an old picture in a new light,

something that helps us fall asleep,

or something that helps wake us up...

then it's worth reading, and everyone should read it.

Welcome to my world.

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

Everyone, thanks for the compliments on the avaturtle, but all compliments should be directed towards Nomadic.
